We just got back from our 10 Days Kunming/Dali/Shaaxi/Shangri-la/Lijiang trip. We really had an enjoyable and relaxing time with Jon and his Kunming counterpart Timmy. Both Jon and Timmy are very reliable and trustworthy tour guides. All we need is to let him know the number of days we intend to spent in our holidays and our brief expectations; he is able to personalized one that suits us perfectly. Despite his absence in Kunming (our first leg); his counterpart, Timmy is equally accommodative and fun. Both Jon & Timmy are quick to sense our needs from time to time during our leisure in Yunnan; providing us the best experience that we could ever enjoyed. One most important characteristics we realized from Jon is his honesty and trustworthiness. His consistency in follow up and communications stays throughout even after remitting 40% deposit. And he is very punctual. We like that habit of his.

Last but not least, we would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to both drivers, Master Tung (Kunming) and Master Nian (Dali/Shaaxi/Shangri-la/Lijiang) for their tireless efforts in ensuring our on road journeys are comfortable and worthwhile. They really walk the extra mile to ensure we see the most of Yunnan - I.e Stopping from place to place for us to take beautiful photos; making sure shortest walk time back to car/transport so that we safe energy for next destination. They even share their knowledge and experience with us. What an enjoyable and interesting on road journey. Thus making the travels constantly interesting and exciting.

Not forgetting their (Jon/Timmy/Tung/Nian) recommendation on the local cuisines. We really love it. 

We would like to take this opportunity to thank them again for the experience and value add. They have truthfully demonstrated their undying passion in their profession!

Me & a group of friend hired Jon to be our guide with transportation for our 6 days trip in Dali, Lijiang & Shangri La in June'14. He arranged very enjoyable trip for us. He even take care of all the admission tickets for us so we don't have queue up for anything. He also help us to book the overnight train ticket from Lijiang to Kumning.

The schedule is tight but we are thankful for him that we can visit so many attractions in 6 days. In that period we managed to visit Dali Three Pagoda Temple, Dali Ancient town, horse wagon ride in Bai village & cormorant fishing in Erhai Lake. Then we went to Shibaoshan & spend a night in Shaxi Old Town.

In Lijiang we went to Lashi Lake, Jage Dragon Snow Mountain (thanks Jon for the oxygen cannister & candy bar), Blue Moon Valley, Lijiang Impression Show, Baisha village, Black Dragon Pond Park, Mu's Mansion & went exploring in the old town during the night.

In Shangri La, we went to Tiger Leaping Gorge, Guishan Park, Songzanlin Monastery & Jon even arrange us to visit a local Tibetan family. They are very friendly, offering yak butter tea, yogurt & local bread to us.

We learned a lot of local culture & history along the trip from Jon. He knowledgeable, super friendly & accommodating.

Lastly I must stress that Jon is a very responsible & extremely helpful person. We left our passport in the Shangri La & he arrange it to deliver back to us the next day in Lijiang, & rebook our train ticket  back to Kunming. Our driver also help us to look for hotel room for the extra night. Thank you for leaving us good memories of the trip.

Jon arranged a tour for 7 of us to see Lijiang and the surrounding countryside.  I was deeply impressed with his professionalism, experience and knowledge.  He made all the arrangements at short notice, showed great flexibility in changing plans due to weather and other factors, and his friendly, patient approach made him friends with all in the Group.  As a tour guide, he had a great knowledge of the history and culture of the areas we visited.

As we ventured outside of Lijiang town, he was ready to climb hills and take 'adventurous' van drives high in the mountains to visit places way off the tourist route.  He has an extensive local network of people to call on and seek advice as to what was both practical and safe, and making the schedule adaptable made it more pleasant for all.

Jon is an excellent guide, showed us some wonderful places, met many fascinating people, and gave us all a deeper appreciation of the culture, history and recent changes that are re-shaping the region.  His passion shows through from the first moment to the last.  Thank you Jon.

Jon is a great tour guide that will present to you a great experience of the culture, people, and the landscape of China.  We had a fun time with Jon and saw places of the old classical China as well as the fun touristy areas of common interest.  We hiked through a mountain trail to visit an old Chinese Temple, had fun visiting a monkey forest full of curious and mischievious monkeys.  We especially liked his selection of the village in Shaxi to stay at overnight and lodge at an old caravan lodge called the Loamadian Lodge.  They had great Asian/American fusion food for dinner.  That village was a small quite place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the town and riverside landscape.  Like living in a town from an old kung-fu movie.

We had fun experiences like riding a horse carriage, rowing a boat in Erhai Lake of Dali, and seeing the fascinating Cormorant Fisherman catch fish with their birds.  Jon has very good english speaking skills and will provide you with a lot of history and background of the sites and places you will see.

During the tour of Lijiang, I had Jon as my tour guide for 3 days. Honestly, I percived that I did not just traveled with a tour guide, but a dear friend, and yet very professional

Although I was being capricious on the itinerary, he still could capable to propose a perfect plan for me with a nice car and reliable & fun driver Niang

Jon is also very reliable and helpful, especially on rescuing me from a terrible hotel to a super fine one I highly recommend him as a tour guide for your trip.

I visited China with a group of people in May 2014. We stayed in Lijiang for few day. Jon was our tour guide. He took us to the most beautiful and interesting parts of the city and suburbs. He is very knowledgeable and have a good understanding of the traveler's needs and interest. He is also very polite, helpful,reliable and passionate. He would go extra miles to make everyone happy. We really had a wonderful time in Lijiang. I highly recommend him as a tour guide.
