We were visiting Lijiang, Yunnan in March 2014 with my parents and two children, four and two. Jon was a wonderful tour guide who was able to give us the history of the place, and accommodate our requests to see more of the animals and farm life. Prior to the trip, he was quick to respond and flexible with helping us to arrange possible places to visit. He also provided a very comfortable vehicle for moving about. I didn't feel rush, and it was nice to have time to walk Tiger Leaping Gorge with Jon and the family instead of being rushed like the tour groups. Jon was also sensitive to the group dynamics (older folks and young kids) and made recommendations that were sensitive to our needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip with Jon and highly recommend him as a tour guide.

Pleasure meeting Jon and he is a very responsible tour guide. He is very flexible and changing the itinerary to meet our needs, especially we have a group of elders with us. We (me, my wife and two children ages 14 and 11) had a fantastic 8 day trip in Yunnan.  Jon was with us the whole time and made the trip very enjoyable and educational.  By the end of the trip he became part of the family and we will miss him (especially my son who established a very good rapport with Jon).

Jon was with us everyday from the moment we got picked up in Kunming to the train departure from Lijiang, however we did not feel that he was imposing on our trip, letting us decide what we wanted do and the pace of our holiday. The car was very spacious and comfortable.  Jon was extremely flexible as we had to change our schedule for part of the trip - this was done without any problems.  Jon is also very reasonably priced compared to others on Synotrip.  His command of English is also very good.

If you want someone who is reliable, flexible and who would take all your holiday headaches away, I would highly recommend Jon.  We hope to see him sometime in the future either in China or in London, this time as friends!

From the onset, Jon was very responsive and demonstrated his expertise by giving us a clear and concise proposal.

He was very professional in the way he conducted the tour for us, displaying his depth of knowledge by sharing the details and information for the various sights, making it very fun for all of us. He did such a great job that we have referred our friends to him for their upcoming trip and have plans to engage him again for future Dali/Shangrila trip.

My son and I hired Jon as our tour guide for 3 days in Lijiang and Tiger Leaping Gorge. Jon was a fantastic tour guide. He was knowledgeable - he seemed to know everything about the area. The pricing was good and there were no extra or unexpected expenses. The hotels he chose were very nice and the transportation was comfortable. I had told him what I wanted to do and he arranged everything well but he was also ready for any contingency; my son and I are interested in music and musical instruments and he knew exactly where to take us in Lijiang - he even played the flute for us!  And his English was excellent. But the most important thing is Jon's attitude. He genuinely likes people, he likes interacting with them. He remained enthusiastic throughout our tour (even though he has seen all these things hundreds of times I assume). I would give Jon the highest rating!

I went Lijiang with my two US coworkers and an old friend from Shanghai. It was really a great trip with Jon's arrangement and guiding - it was more than I expected. Jon really equipped himself with all the knowledge and connection to do his job. We enjoyed the beauty of Lijiang, but I really appreciated Jon for taking us to the old villages that allow us to have the opportunities to meet local Naxi people and try the delicious local food. I will definitely work with Jon on our next trip to Yunnan. Jon speaks excellent English so don't worry if you are from US, Canada, or other English speaking countries。
