It’s my pleasure to introduce myself. my name is Jon Zhou, I'm a professional guide with passion , honesty and Patience ! I was born in a small village in South of Yunnan, I came to Lijiang City for College in 2003 then settled down in this lovely city after the graduation , I Love Lijiang and I'm enjoying every moment in the City ! I have work experience of 17 years as a professional English-speaking tour guide and know all Places and Tourist attractions in Yunnan very well !

I like hiking on mountains and taking photo by camera and drone. What I enjoyed most from my work is to tell story to travellers about Yunnan and show you Yunnan highlights and hidden attractions ! Of course , I will also introduce you delicacies of every cities we visit on the trip!

I'm good at deliver tours to travellers who are interested in Chinese Culture, history and Chinese Architecture. I'm also good at leading leisure tours for families travel with kids, travellers who like to go hiking around Yunnan ( Kunming, Lijiang, Dali, Shangrila , Xishuangban'na , Pu'er ,Yuanyang Jianshui and Luoping, etc.. )

I enlisted the service of Jon for a 7-day trip covering Lijiang and Shangri-la. My group of 6 included 2 young children and 2 elderly. He was attentive to all our needs and always open to changes in itinerary, as well as coming up with suggestions. He made sure we were comfortable and enjoyed ourselves. What made him stood out to me was this extensive knowledge on the historical, cultural and geographical elements of the places we visited. His explanation and sharing made the visits we made so much more meaningful. I will not hesitate to engage Jon if I have the chance to visit China again. I highly recommend him to anyone contemplating a visit to the areas which he covers. Read less

Jon organised a three-day trek in the Tibetan village of Yubeng. He is highly reliable. He was always available to discuss our needs and wishes, and sort out problems before and during the trip. Our guide Tashi spoke good English and was a discreet and very dependable presence.. His help ensured that we had a great trek. He provided very interesting explanations on Tibetan culture. He chose good restaurants for us and never took us to shops to encourage purchase of souvenirs. We enjoyed a genuine experience of contact with the people despite the language barrier. On the difficult mountain roads, we always felt safe. Tashi is a considered driver. Overall, we found that The trip was well organised and offered good value for money, not luxury (which we dind’t want) but authentic exoeriences). we can only recommend Jon and Tashi! Read less

We booked Jon Zhou as our tour guide for our trip to Lijiang. He is an excellent English-speaking tour guide who helped us navigate Lijiang and surrounding tourist attractions. He not only provided tour guide assistance but helped us with airport to hotel transfers and other issues related to our stay in Lijiang. Jon is outstanding in every way. He was prompt, through and picked wonderful attractions for us to visit that we will always remember. Through him, we truly got a great exposure to Lijiang area including Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Impression Lijiang Show, Baisha Village and Embroidery School, Zhiyun Monastery and Leaping Tiger Gorge. Excellent tour guide (friendly, careful, a lot of stories to tell, has an answer for all the questions, takes initiatives). And also does not hesitate to go beyond to answer our needs such as bringing us to the best dumpling restaurant in town (not at all touristic). I recently returned from an enjoyable and memorable trip to Kunming, Yunnan, and I must thank Jon for making arrangements. Although he was not able to accompany me during my trip, Jon made efforts to find a tour guide that matched my specifications. He made sure to stay in contact before and during my trip. I really felt taken care of, and there was not one moment that I could not count on Jon for assistance. Jon didn't accompany us personally but set us up with an excellent driver who took us round southern Yunnan - Jianshui, Swallows' Cave, Yuanyang Rice Terraces, Luxi (Chengzi Village, Alu Caves) and then the great scenery in Luoping. The driver didn't speak English but Jon was always on the end of the phone when help was needed (this was a more economical option than taking a guide and a driver). Jon also helped find and book hotels on the route we wanted (he translated the itinerary we had planned for the driver). Jon was always patient and full of advice. The driver was quiet, polite and put up with the 5 of us, including three very energetic kids. We got through a lot of miles in seven days. It all worked out fantastically well. I would, without hesitation, recommend Jon as someone to sort out a holiday in Yunnan! James Read less
