The history of the ancient town dates back to Three Kingdom period,which is over 1800 year ago. 90% of the residents are not Sichuanese but Hakkas. They are the offsprings of migrants from Northern Guangdong(Canton) Province at the end of 17th centry. The 20000 population in the town are still keeping the old traditional lifestyle, They are communicating in Hakka dialect,celebrating Fire and Water Dragon dance for harvest, living in wooden and brick houses.
