Jianmen Pass is located at an opening in the middle section of Mt.Dajian which contines for hundreds of miles . The sword-like peaks form a natural barrier and give i many strategic and geographic advantages. In the history the pass has witnessed more than 100 battles, and welcomed over ten emperors as well as countless men of letters, who left behind 4000 artworks prasing if after their visit . Jianmen Pass is a major part of the National 5A tourist attraction Jianmen Shu Road. it is also it was 2300 years ago when five strong men called Five Ding cleared the way for offense in the Pre-Qin days. The well-known sentences " if one man guards the pass, then thousand are unable to get through" and "  it is easy to climb to heaven than to take the Shu Road "( which is from Libai's poet , were made to describe this steep and  rough pass. Built before 256 B.C ,  Dujiangyan Irrigation System is one of the three largest projects in ancient China, but the only one which is still working, as the other 2( Great Wall and Beijing-Hangzhou Canal) are not used any more.

Located at the east edge of the Tibetan Plateau, this Irrigation System has been preventing Sichuan Valley from flood and bringing water to every piece of farmland in the valley since it was built. Thanks to this, Sichuan valley became one of the most productive and safest place in all China known as Tianfuzhigou (Heavenly Kingdom).

Qingxi Garden covers an area of about 8000 square meters, the treasure park of Chuan bonsai, also one of the most charming senic spots. Jiuzhaigou ( Jiuzhaigou Valley ) is named after the nine Tibetan villages with in the national park boundaries, like the hundreds of other villages in the region the local people's houses are traditionally made of wood, which is to be expected for somewhere that has been surrounded with thick forests for thousands of years. 

    The best example of traditional architecture within the park can be seen in the abandoned Guodu VIllage in Zharu Valley. Traditionally, houses had three floors. The ground floor housed livestock. This was one way of keeping homes warm during the cold winters, as the animals' body heat would radiate up through the floorboards. The first floor was the family's living quarters and the top floor which was usually open at the gable ends was for drying crops, storing grain, animal feed and farm tools.

    When Jiuzhai Valley was officially classified as a nature reserve in the 1980s all agriculture and animal husbandry was banned in the park and today the locals make a living from tourism. There is no longer a need to build houses in the traditional fashion and most are now built with a combination of bricks and wood. The brightly painted exteriors of the homes are a modern addition to local villages and are a sign of increased prosperity. 

     Traditionally only monasteries would be able to afford such elaborate painting . Now all homes will be painted to some degree ( inside or outside of both) with particular attention beging paid to the home alter which is an important feature of each home. 

Dujiangyan is an irrigation infrastructure built in 256 BC during the Warring States period of China by the State of Qin. It is located in the Min River (Chinese: 岷江; pinyin: Mínjiāng) in Sichuan, China, near the capital Chengdu. It is still in use today to irrigate over 5,300 square kilometers of land in the region. The Dujiangyan along with the Zhengguo Canal in Shaanxi and the Lingqu Canal in Guangxi are known as “The three great hydraulic engineering projects of the Qin dynasty”.
