 Jon arranged a fantastic holiday for myself, my husband and our daughter who is living in Shanghai. He listened to all our requests and responded very promptly. We spent 8 days in Yunnan Province with our guide Sandy who is a local Naxi man with a real knowledge and love for this part of the world. We especially loved Shaxi, Tiger Leaping Gorge and our travels along the Yantze River. We enjoyed eating lunch in the local farmer's canteens, choosing fresh produce to be cooked. Sandy could tell us about the life of the local farmers and the culture of various communities. I would really recommend using Jon's services to create a truly special holiday.

I brought my parents to Lijiang in Nov 2015 and Jon took us around for 4 days. During the trip, he not only demonstrated his knowledge and ethics as a guide (being on time, not taking us to overpriced restaurants..etc) but he had also shown that he was very good at taking care of his clients.. I recall the following incidents: (1) helping my parents on and off transport van/up and down stairs (2) keeping my mum company at base of snow mountain (as she was afraid of altitude sickness) while my dad and i went up. He doubles up as a babysitter/parent-sitter ;) (3) we arranged transportation with jon to get from kunming train station to kunming airport (even though he was based in lijiang). He made it a point to call the driver to ensure that we have been picked up safely. These are just very simple gestures, but very heartwarming to find in a guide. Will not hesitate to recommend Jon to anyone!

I am a traveller from India. I travelled to the Yunnan Province in July. It was undoubtedly one of my best experiences so far. All the places are unique, beautiful and very charming. The people everywhere are very warm and nice. Jon was our guide. He made the whole trip more fun and memorable. The trip wouldn't have been the same without him. He became a part of us. We went to off beat locations, enjoyed delicious food everywhere, got to experience the local life around and many different memories which will always remain with me. I would surely love to come back and relive all the moments if I get the chance.

He is  a native Yunnan resident, who is very knowledgeable of Chinese history, culture, customs and people. He organized and executed a wonderful plan for us. He carefully thought out every detail of the trip. He communicated with us very effectively, both at the planning stage of the trip and throughout the trip. No detail was left unattended. We made many trips around the world and this one was, without question, the best. 

With Jon:

1. We got to hike at the most remote and beautiful trails and villages;

2. We met local people and were welcomed to their homes due to his familiarity with customs, language and vast network of connections

3. We were introduced to the wonderful Yunnan cuisine, food markets and walked through fields and farms.

4. We experienced authentic religious ceremonies celebrated by local communities, that were not designed as touristic attractions.

5. Our needs were met with a smile and lots of patience

6. We got the inside scoop of local communities and ethnicities. In Yunnan, each each mountain has a story and Jon knows it.

We plan to introduce Jon to our family and friends, being assured that they are in for a great treat.

We (2 couples) just returned for an 11 days trip to Yunnan, China. We found Yunnan to have incredible landscape, and amazing and picturesque minorities towns and villages, with very friendly local people.

The trip was planned an carried out by our guide Mr. Jon Zhou. Jon contributed invaluably to our enjoyment from the journey.  He is charming, pleasant, very responsible, highly knowledgeable of the area including its people culture and history, and speaks excellent English. With his help we were taken to many unique off the beaten track nature spots and were able to meet local people. Jon was very receptive to our requests, took care of every detail from large to small, was creative and flexible. All this in a very friendly manner. It has been a memorable vacation to which Jon is to be thanked.
The driver Mr. Ha, is very professional driver and contributed largely to the trip with warmth and generosity.
