Baobab alley

The Baobab alley is located at 21km from Morondava. The tour takes one full day if you depart from Morondava earlier in the morning and will get back to Morondava in the evening or after the sunset.

DAY SCHEDULE

FIRST STEP: MEETING UP AT YOUR HOTEL IN MORONDAVA 

• At 7:00am, The tour guide will meet you at your Hotel and depart from your Hotel in Morondava at 7:30am  and direct drive to kirindy forest
• at 8:00am, stop at avenue of baoaba and clicks some pictures of the scenery in the morning time, Take the picures at the avenue entry and avenue exit.
• at 9:00am: arrive in Kirindy forest

SECOND STEP:  WALK INSIDE THE PARK TO SPOT THE WILD ANIMALS

• Pick up the local guide from the office
• spotting mainly 2 species of lemurs, the white lemur and the common brown lemur
• watching some species of birds
• between November and April, you can see many reptiles inside the forest such az lizards, snakes and chameleons
• Spotting the endemic carnivorous animal named Fossa. It is forbidden to go closer to it because this animal is very agressive. This animal is the first predator of the lemur in the forest and it is very talented on climbing trees.
• Clicks pictures of the baobab male (unique and increadible shape in this forest)
• The walk can last 1 to 2 hours.
• Have lunch in a restaurant after the walk

THIRD STEP:  EXPLORING THE SPECIES OF BAOBABS

• After lunch, get on board of the car and drive to the giant baobab named as a sacred baobab in the area
• after the sacred baobab, drive to the place where you take picture of the baobab in love ( inceadible shape of the tree)
• After the baobab in love, clicks pictures of the three species of baobab trees growing in the area on the way to the avenue of baobab
• After discovering the three species of baobab, slowly drive to the famous avenue of baobab and clicks lots of pictures of the scenery during sunset
• After sunset, slowly drive back to Morondava
• Arrive in Morondava around 7:00pm
• Drop you off at your Hotel

-Most shops and business do not accept any foreign currencies, you have to use local currency (MGA) during the tour

-ATM machines are available in all big cities in Madagascar

-Never do your money exchange with the black markets in the streets  or at the car park near the airport. Do only your money exchange at the official banks

-when  you bring USD bills cash, make sure the bills are issued AFTER 2012. No money changer accepts any bills issued BEFORE 2012
