NanluoguxiangNLGX, an ancient alleyway (Hutong) in downtown Beijing and very close to Lake Houhai is getting more and more attention from media, local young generation and travelers. Located several kilometers north of the Forbidden City and just east of Houhai Lake, this North-South Hutong is filled with bars, cafes, clothing stores and handcraft shops all designed in classical Chinese ‘Hutong’ style. The northern end of NLGX can be found at Gulou Dong Street (Drum Tower East Street), with its southern end at Dianmen on Pingan Street. With 16 Hutong meandering east and west of off the central lane, giving each side eight Hutong. This was the typical Hutong layout of the Yuan Dynasty (1271–1368). It’s one of the best preserved old Hutong areas in downtown Beijing. Nanluoguxiang has a history of over 800 years. Many tourists enjoy taking ride through this 800-year-old Hutong that was once home to elites, celebrities, government officials, artists and well-off families.
 
Unlike the other two famous bar streets of Beijing, bars and cafes at Nanluoguxiang are quieter, providing food and drink at more reasonable price. Most of the bars and shops are decorated in a traditional Chinese style that matches well with their surroundings. At the central section of Naluoguxiang, you will encounter The Central Academy of Drama, the alma mater of countless Chinese TV and film stars such as Zhang Ziyi (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon).
 
A youth hostel call “Peking Downtown Backpackers” can be found at found at No. 85 Nanluoguxiang (phone number 8610-8400-2429). This hostel is serene and clean, with a standard two-bed room priced at 80 yuan (US$10). Bicycles can be rented at the hostel’s reception. This hostel also provides a popular cafe with a cozy environment, internet access, coffee and breakfast.
 
The earliest and most famous bars in the area are the Pass By and Here bars. The Pass By Bar was set up more than seven years ago. The owner of the Here Bar is a photographer, thus many interesting photos can be found in his bar. Old pictures are also exhibited, such as those of Chairman Mao. Fish Nation serves traditional British-style fish & chips, as well as pizza, pasta, and a big English breakfast. A spacious rooftop is the perfect hangout for an afternoon. Those who enjoy shopping may be interested to visit The Pottery Workshop to see the world famous work of Caroline Cheng. While browsing her art you can also enjoy a glass of wine or a range of other drinks on sale.

After shopping at the Lady street,   No matter do you want to buy any flower or not ,  it's really enjoy  to have a visit  of the Flower Market on its side.

Beijing local people  in order to improve the air quality in their own homes, so they buy a lot of  the fresh plants at home.  There are more local people in the market than tourist.  Rows and rows of colourful orchids, bonsai trees, cacti, varied leafy plants and etc..  Also, there are various kinds  of  cut-flowers , like roses, lotus flowers , lily  flowers and so on.

Laitai Flower Market is composed of the fresh potted plants, the  cut-flowers ,the fake flower and art stores.  The underground floor has vivid fake flowers,  modern porcelain, lamps, carpets, straw and cane products, stone carvings and some small handicrafts.
 

When you go to visit Laitai Flower Market, don't pass up the aquariums and pet stores.  You will be surprise about the chinese local people's pet at home.  They can be bird, rabbit, Golden fish, tortoise and even worms.

In the cold winter, you should have a visit of  plants greenery . It's different  feeling and experience with the tourist scenic spots.

Shichahai is a famous scenic area that includes three lakes (Qian Hai, meaning Front Sea; Hou Hai, meaning Back Sea and Xi Hai, meaning Western Sea), surrounding places of historic interest and scenic beauty, and remnants of old-style Beijing residences, Hutong and Courtyard. One day tirp to Bajiao Zhai, a noticeable Danxia Landform.

This is a tailor-made trip for nature-lovers and fans of photography.  Danxia rock formation in the inland basin is a red rock debris, and later uplift due to the movement of the earth-crust, erosion of rocks by the water and weathering, which was dominant in the hillside to collapse back, kept down the rocks to form the red mountain block. This area was listed in the Natural Heritage of the world in 2009 by UNESCO. Bajiao Zhai Village is a combination of  strategic place, steepy mountian, elegant scenery and secluded remote. It is reputed as the "Soul of Danxia Landform". Here you can enjoy the sunrise or sunset and the sea-cloud. 1. I'll pick you up at 8:00 am in your hotel, and transfer to Bajiao Zhai Village by our private van. On the way, you can enjoy some terraced fields, bamboo groves and the wooden residences of the natives.(3.5 hours by ride) 2. First, we'll visit the village and have lunch in the village, and then we'll hike the mountains, the scenery including the group of snails looking up the sky, the ancient trail, Eye-stone, Joss stick of dragon's head and the Treasured sword Peak.(4 hours by hike) 3. After appreciating the sunset, after dinner in Ziyuan county, we'll take the bus back to your hotel around 10:00 pm.
