Chinese medicine may seem very mysterious and maybe even look disgusting, for people who don't know much about it. Quite often, western customers ask me," do you still use the traditional Chinese medicine and accupuncture?"  Yes, we do, even people find most hospitals running under a western system, and western medicines are sold in many drug stores. But we also use a lot of medicines made of herbs which are available in all these drug shops. Another very common thing is when we have certain health problem, we go to the traditional doctor who would give us herbs, which can be insects, plants or worms. Accupuncture and massge are quite common for people who have back, shoulder pain, or for  relaxing and recovering.

   A friend introduced this place to me. It's a couple running this place. The guy used to work in a Chinese Medicine Hospital, and the lady is famous for her magic hands for massage. They combine traditional Chinese therapy like massage,  accupunture and cup-heating with the modern facilities, in a very nice gentle way. But this place would surprise you by how clean and how considerate they are, and how much better you feel afterwoards.

Walk out of the entrance of the Old Town by the waterwheel, then take the left along Minzhu Rd., you'll find Qixing St. by the other side, walk another 500 meters aong Qixing St., you'll find the shop on the left

  It is a beautiful night. It is a mysterious world. The Mountain River Show is anethic dancing & singing show. The Yi people's Fire Touch Festival, Naxi People's Stick Festival, the Bai boy's handsome dance, the Tibetan waving girls are all enterpreting the art of the ethnic people who resides in these mountains for centuries.

 The whole performance is very bright and colorful, with very nice dancing and fancy ethnic custumes. The atmosphere is very happy and light. It definitely promises you a wonderful night.

From the waterwheel, walk out of the old town, take left, cross the traffic light, further on to the Chairman Mao Square. Then you'll find the Lijiang International Ethnic Culture Center at the opposite of the road.

N's Kitchen is a popular eating place, with an extensive English language menu and good Western food, including breakfasts, coffee, pasta and pizza. They use nice wholemeal bread and Yunnan coffee.

From waterwheel, take the left hand entrance into old town, follow it around right and left for a couple of minutes, til you get to the small square. It is in the corner

The world horticultural garden exposition in northest Kunming is a global exposition of the highest degree. First opened in May of 1999, this theme park remains a dazzling display of sights, sounds and colors. Containing dozens of theme gardens, this park will impress and amaze anyone interested in natural or man-made science, art, poetry or Chinese architecture. 
     Entrance into the gardens was 100 RMB. Although this entrance fee may seem high, compared to other destination theme parks, I thought it was very fair. After you paid the entrance fee, Iyou was given a plastic card and a colorful map to enter the park. Being a naturalist-at-heart and a gardener by trade, you knew upon entering the gates that this place was special. 
   Once inside the gates, one walks through a flower garden road. The colors and varieties of flowers, planted in colorful patterns, is very vivid. Along this flower garden road there are flower columns, flower streams, a flowered sailing ship and a flower clock to view. Also bi-lingual tour guides offer their services as companion guides complete with video cameras and expertise. Maybe you will set to experience this park on your own.
 

   The World Horti-Expo garden contains 5 large exhibition halls, 7 special gardens, 34 domestic (Chinese) gardens, 28 international gardens and numerous trails into the natural hillside forests. Perhaps because of the size and complexity of this park, very little english information was available as far as what this place has to offer. Fortunately the garden tour maps and directional signs are written in both chinese and english.

 All in all,it is a good place for coming!I hope we will have a nice day there!
