About Me

I'm Linda Guo, an English speaking guide in Xian. I had national tour guide license. Over ten years working experience as a local guide, I'm glad to meet each visitor who come from all over the world.

I'm patient, honest, enthusiastic and happy to help the people who needs my help. If I'm your guide, you'll get very happy, comfortable, memorable tour in Xian.

Xian was ancient capital in China, it has splendid Chinese culture and the hometown of terra cotta warriors and horses. Depend on your different interests and requests, your Xian tour will be tailor-made.

I love Xian because it's my beautiful hometown, many foreigners loved it as well and enjoyed the time in Xian, I love my job because it's a good opportunity to reveal the ancient history and natural beauty to each visitor.

Don't be hesitate! Follow me to have a fantastic trip in Xian! We'll share the wonderful time in Xian!

I had a fairly limited amount of time to spend touring Xian (three days and Linda made every hour of that time both valuable and highly memorable. I asked here layout for me a touring itinerary that took us to main attractions that people come to Xian to see (e.g. Terra Cotta Warriors) but also to mix in some lesser known (and less crowded) sites and experiences to take in. Linda did not disappoint. One example was an afternoon spent in the Muslim Quarter which included the an ancient and still active Mosque.

Linda has exceptional knowledge about the ancient history of Xian and does not spout it off as if you are listening to a recording. She pays attention to what you would like to know more and less of, and tailors her narrative accordingly. That is important, because Xian is saturated with rich history, from multiple dynasties, that "information overload" is easy to experience. By all means go the Shannxi Provincial Museum with Linda as your guide and you will see what I mean.

I greatly enjoyed the company of Linda and the conversations we had along the way of seeing the sights of Xian because she is also genuinely interested about what part of the world you come from and what that life, culture, history and political matrix is all about. We had an excellent exchange of our impressions and perceptions (both accurate and mistaken) about our two countries (America and China).

What also so impressed me about Linda was her willingness to help you in most any way she could. I need to send some travel remembrances with me back to the United States and her assistance in translating at China Post (the post office) was invaluable. When I needed to pay to get my  China cellphone back on and operational, we searched out and found the China Mobile wireless storefront to enable to get reconnected.  When I needed someone to help me be the more discriminating shopper at  Xian Antique Market (do not miss this experience) Linda was there to lend her critical eye (she has very good taste) and worked in my interest to bargain for the best and fair price.

There probably are better informed and authoritative travel and tour guides in Xian. Iif you want to really know the treasures that Xian offers and from the perspective of someone who intimately knows the city and all it has to offer (from being a lifetime resident herself) you will greatly appreciate the energy and interest Linda will extend to you and your time in Xian will be that much more rich and rewarding.

My wife and I just returned this morning from a nine-day vacation in China. During our two days and one night in Xian, Linda was our guide and lifeline to the vibrant and rich culture and history of Xian and its surrounding areas. We hit the ground running, arriving on Sunday morning, after having spent three days in Shanghai. Linda took us straight to the hotel, which she selected and booked for us, an excellent choice the Ramada Xian Bell Tower Hotel, at the very reasonable rate of 446 rmb (about $65) per night for a very clean room with a king-sized bed with a wide-screen computer with unlimited internet access for no additional charge (the only hotel in China that provided this during our stay.)

We toured the Terra Cotta Warriors Museum and Historical Site, the Han burial site, the Tang Dynasty evening show, as well as visits to the Bell Tower, the City Walls, the Muslim area and the mosque. As a fun side excursion, we visited an interesting fresh food market which included such local specialty items as soft-shelled turtles, bull frogs, many varieties of fish, all waiting for that lucky gourmet to come along and scoop it up for their next home-cooked meal.

We found Linda to be intellectually engaging and academically gifted to provide us with an amazing experience, while at the same time enjoying one of the most spectacular cities in China.

We would recommend Linda without hesitation....you cannot go wrong.

I have been traveling in China for the first time. While looking for a guide in Xian, someone suggest Linda to me. It was one of the best suggestion I have ever got in all my trips. She is an outstanding  guide, punctual, highly qualified and also a very kind person. Linda taught me a lot about China and Xian and did it in a very nice way.

Linda presented me many options of activities and helped in choosing which were more close to my interest. The Terracota warriors and horses museum and the city wall are unavoidable, but I am very grateful for her suggestions of visiting also other fantastic places, as for example the Han mausoleum. Not only Linda is well prepared to give clear explanations about Xian and China History, but also she was great in showing the city how it is nowadays, in particular I loved to taste the local food.

It has been a great pleasure to expend two days in Linda company and I highly recommend her as a guide to anyone that intend to visit Xian.

My wife and me have had -with Linda in Xian- one of our best tourism experiences around 36 countries that we have visited. . Very punctual she picked up us from the train station the 5th of may; from the beginning, she showed a highly qualified tour guide attitude and a gentle and warm relation with us. She is an outstanding prepared professional about China and Xian History, and a person really involved with the interest of her clients. Her explanations were always clear and understandable. In short words, she is a first class guide: her profile is very real, specially in "...have a fantastic trip in Xian. We´ll share the wonderful time in Xian"

A remarkable point were the tips and help that Linda gave us for the time without her, about places to have lunch, dinner and opera, and the very convenient transportation to the airport  arrangement that she got for us.

We were a family of 4 visiting Xian and found out about Linda's guide services through the internet. At first I was skeptical about booking a guide through the internet but it proved to be an excellent choice. We contracted with Linda for 2/1/2 days of touring plus a car. Linda and her driver met us at the airport and after that we were in her competent hands. The car was a minivan and just immaculate. The driver was professional and Linda guided us through the major sites around Xian including a side trip to Hua Shan. She was punctual, practical and able to arrange shows and dinner at the last minute. It was truly a carefree holiday and I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone visiting Xian. Michael G.

One thing I have to say about Linda is that she offered us a warm welcome and a personalised service throughout our stay in Xi'An.

We arranged everything by e mail and Linda was able to offer suggestions on our hotel choice as well as the intinerary. Linda met us at the airport and also made sure that everything was fine for our departure and saw us right to the airport security.

The main attraction in Xi'An is the Terracotta Warriors and Linda proved herself very knowledgeable and has good english. She also was able to suggest some good local restaurants and also arranged for a very fine foot massage. We also needed to make a quick visit to a pharmacy and again Linda was able to help.

We would have absolutely no hestitation in highly reccomending Linda and on our next trip we will definitely be booking with Linda
