Kuan Zhai Alley is one of the top three historic preserve districts in Chengdu City. It is formed by three alleys called Kuan Alley (Wide Alley), Zhai Alley (Narrow Alley), and Jing Alley. The major buildings in this site are courtyards and ancient style streets. This district had been renovated from 2005 to 2008. And now, it is a cultural site consisting of 45 Qing Ming Dynasty style courtyards, modern villas and gardens, as well as theme hostels.

In the fifty-seventh year of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty (1718), the government has sent about 3,000 soldiers to Tibet. After the war was stopped, over one thousand Baqi Garrison and their families have stayed in Chengdu forever. Kuan, Zhai and Jing Alleys were included in the 42 alleys for soldiers. However, the process of urbanization gradually swallows up the historical relics of old Chengdu, and nowadays only three out of 42 alleys, that is, Kuan, Zhai and Jing Alleys have been remained with reserve of the past signs.

Wenshu Monastery (Manjushri Monastery), located at No. 15 Wenshu Yuan Street, Chengu, Sichuan Province, is the best-preserved Buddhist temple in Chengdu. It is the home of the Buddhist Association of Sichuan Province and Chengdu City.

Initially built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), Wenshu Monastery was once called Xinxiang Temple. In 1681, during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), Cidu, an accomplished Buddhist monk, came to the temple. He built a simple hut between two trees and for several years lived an ascetic life there. Legend has it when Cidu was being cremated; the statue of Wensu (Bodhisattva Manjusri in Sanskrit) appeared in the flames, staying for a long time. So people regarded Cidu as the reincarnation of the Bodhisattva Manjusri. Thereafter, Xinxiang Temple became Wenshu Monastery.

Langzhong Ancient City is situated on the bank of the Jialin River. to the east of the city lies Mt.Bashan and to the west is the ancient Jianmenguan Pass. Langzhong covers an area of nearly 2,000 quare kilometers, and has a population of about 900 thousand. 

Most of the buildings in Langzhong Ancient City are contrusted in the style of the Ming and Qing dynasties. some of them retain the style of the construction in the last years of the Tang Dynasty. The city, with the grand Huaguang Tower as its center, stretches out like a fan. streets are no wider than 8 meters while alleys are only 2 or 3 meters wide. All the folk houses, simple and elegant, are bungalows with green tiles. The fame of ancient city is compatible to that of the Lijiang Ancient City in Yunnan Province. 

Langzhong is" the ancient city of geomantic omen "

constructed in strict accordance with the astronomical theory and geomantic omens of the Tang Dynasty. Langzhong Ancient City is proclaimed as one of the four well-known ancient cities in China. The other three are Lijiang Ancient City in Yunnan Province, Pingyao Ancient City in Shanxi Province and Shexian County in Anhui Province.

the preserved area of the ancient city is 1.7 square kilometers where lie 91 crisscrossing ancient streets.The city site of the Han Dynasty and the ancient city wall of the Song Dynasty are still visible. You can find the bricks of the Qin Dynasty and tiles of the Han Dynasty, steles of past dynasties and paper-cuts and carving decorations of  windows everywhere. The folk houses and courtyards are scattered along the ancient alleys and streets.

in 221 A.D. Zhangfei was in a hurry to take revenge for his brother GuanYu who was killed by the army of Wu Kingdom. He forced his soldiers to make weapons and and night and infuriated his two officers, Fanqiang and Zhangda. The two cut off Zhangfei's head and took it to offer it to Sun Quan( the king of Wu Kingdom) for an exchange of their promotion. they went eastward along the Yangtze River in a boat. on their way, they heard that the king of Wu kingdom, had made a ceasefire agreement with the king Liu Bei of Shu Kingdom. The two were very horrified and threw Zhang's head into the Yangtze River. The head floated to Yunyang and was picked up by a fisherman, who burried it at the foot of Mt.Fenghuang( Phoenix Mountain) in Yunyang. But his body was burried in Langzhong. That is the tragic story about " the head buried in Yunyang while the body buried in Langzhong"

Langzhong is polular for its long-standing food culture which consists of that of Hui,Han and Man peoples. There are many types of snacks cooked by the super cooking techniques . In the early Qing Dynasty, Islam was introduced in Langzhong and thus brought about the Hui food culture. The different food cultures creat numerous types of snacks with various flavors . famous ones like Cold Beef Noodles, Spindle Pancake, Hot-pot Beef Braised in Soy Sauce. Pot-stewed Smoked Pork, Northern Sichuan Bean Jelly and Warm Bean Jelly, etc. 

Folk Arts

Langzhong was the capital city of Bazi Country. The Ba People lived with the Han People for centuries .Bayu Dance is a group dance of martial art created by the ancient Ba People while they fought with beasts and other tribes. The time-honoured Northern Sichuan Lamp Drama, also called " Gu Yue Sheng" is very popular among the common people in north Sichuan. Its contents are mostly taken from the legends and the life of the working people. 

There is slang in Chinese: Never want any water after coming back from Jiuzhai.  Jiuzhai boasts many clear lakes,some of which are hidden in the valleys and some inlay in the virgin forests.With variety of shapes and sizes, these lakes look like mirrors projecting colorful light rings in the sunshine.

Nuorilang Waterfall (诺日朗瀑布）is located between Nuorilang and Shuzheng Valley. the waterfall is 30m in hight and 270m in width. it is one of China's largest calcified waterfalls. Nuorilang literally means "magnificence in Tibetan language. During the rainy season, the cascading waterfall produces a tremendous noise that ethos repeatedly in the valley. As the water hists the ground, the liquid immediately splashes high up into the air in the form of fine drops. The drops are thrown,blown or projected, forming a splendid water curtain. Visitors often see a rainbow that appears in the curtain when the sun shines upon it. Even at a far distance from the waterfall can be seen and heard an astonishing thundering noise, water mist, and colorful rainbows in the sky forming a wide and dynamic water screen of grandeur. In autumn when the water level is lower,the waterfall presents another wonder. The hinging cliff looks like a colorful silk cloth that matches with the surrounding multi-colored bushes. 

Here we are at the Long Lake, in Chinese is Changhai. It is located at the top of Zezawa Valley .3100 above sea level. There are some questions for you?
1. how was the lake formed?
2. Why does the lake have no exit ?
3. Are there any fish in the lake?
4. How long is the lake?
5. How deep is the lake ?
The first question still remains a mystery. It is uncertain whether it was formed due to earthquakes, landslides or mud-rock flow. The source of the water comes from springs among the forests and melted snow on the surrounding mountains. The water never overflows in summer and never dries up in winter. The only way for water to drain in the lake is to evaporate and permeate into the ground.The lake has no fish probably because it is too cold. According to legend a monster ate all the fish a long time ago. The lake is 7.5km in length, and in some parts the lake is 103m in depth.
     Changhai is the largest lake in Jiuzhaigou. The natural beauty of the lake strikes you as vast and infinite, presenting a picture of endless imagination. The lake remains unruffled, clouds float by, and water birds frolic across the lake. The surround green forests grow verdant, casting shadows on the water. Whether or not you believe that a creator exists, this sight will make you feel that there must surely be one. It seems strange that such wonders are set remote like this, where thousands of years may have passed before we come along to appreciate them.

If you say, Beijing, Xi'an and Shanghai are the symbolic major picture of China, I would say, walk a few more steps please, because you will find each city of China is unique, just like Leshan city, where is known as the giant Buddha.

It's not a developed city, instead, small, quite and peaceful is the perfect description of it. One thing you know about China when you stay here longer is how crowded it is, so it's quite lucky to find somewhere so comfortable and relax.

Another reason I love there is, it's my hometown, everything for me is familiar and comfortable, I can understand almost everything just take a glance of it, I love the field brought me my life, like mother.

The pictures I'm showing mostly are about the giant Buddha which took about 90 years to finish back in the Tang Dynasty the year AD 713. MIn river, Qingyi river and Dadu river gather together here, so it often caused many natural disaster in the old times, boats were flipped, people were killed, crops were destroyed. In order to stop the tragedy, a famous Zen Master decided to build this giant Buddha to create the peaceful atmosphere and stop it. Which is now what we can see, the splendid project sitting by the river and watching over all his people, somehow, it works.

Most of the attraction is the heritage of Buddha culture back to when it brought by Indian people, in the blooming times of ancient China, so all the characters are quite different than most of them we see today.

Xichang satellite launch center( or Xichang sitellite space center ) was built in the early 70's, officially opened in November 1, 1984, is the only open high-tech space as tourist attraction .the Center has a test launch, command and control, tracking and communications, weather, technical service support system, it can launch a variety of satellite, after 20 years of construction, has become the world's top space launch site. it is China's first launch center. The launch site is located in the city of Xichang in the territory of 60 km north of Mianning County in the valley, with an average altitude of 1500 meters.
Xichang Satellite is mainly used for launching geosynchronous satellite launch, but also the sun synchronous orbit satellite and low earth orbit satellite.

In 1990, the center sent the USA manufacturing Asian 1  satellite into a geosynchronous transfer orbit

Bifengxia Wild Animal Park is located on the north of Ya'an city, right beside Ya'an Bifengxia Panda Base. take the sightseeing bus from the entrance ,about 20 minutes you will be at the beast area: the African lion king is leading the wives and children, the mighty lion is 3 meters long, after they eat the beef you give, they walk away arrogantly .  then comes tigers : about 4-6 tigers will surround the bus, they even stand up , putting their paws on the window, enjoy the beef you provide, you are very close to their big mouth , white teeth and red tongue, and you can feel their hot breath from the whole where you give meet to them , at this time , the whole bus are full of surprise and tighten heart . 

after they eat the meet, they walk away , doing their own game . 

then comes the bears, these blind guys , should wear glasses to see clearly , they must be very curious to the big box (the bus)what inside it . the staff of the park will give you a bottle of water with honey in it to feed the big bears. they will follow  you untill they cannot catch the bus . 

after the beast area, there are other docile animal area such as  deer and sheep.monkeys. and there is an Asia's largest bird forest. 

after you see all these, in the center you can watch the animal show : parrot can distinguish colors，ride a tricycle. bears roll their body on Parallel bars. tigers and lions.
