Located in the southeast of Kunming, Guandu Ancient town is not only a famous old town in Kunming,but also one of the birthplaces of Dian culture,which  can be traced back to the Tang dynasty(the Nanzhao  Kingdom period).

PuEr tea plantation is mostly locate in southern part of Yunnan between elevation of 1000-2000M.  The minorities plant tea trees for generations. Picking tea is in April and September. Tea are dry by sun. Follow by breaking the cell to open them up. A second drying process by fire to make up the shape. Weighting and formation is the final step. A standard tea pancake is 357 grams. 

The Zhu Family Mansion was the former residence and ancestral temple of Zhu Weiqing during the Qing Dynasty. It took about 30 years to complete the whole mansion and its gardens. The buildings are either parallel or perpendicular to each other that they are juxtaposed in an orderly manner. Each of the 42 patios has delicate and traditional Chinese architectural designs. It was neglected and used for various purposes after 1949. In 1990, the local government took it back and renovated it. In 1998, it became a key tourist destination and was repaired again.
The gardens are spectacular with not only the old buildings but also a large lake and many excellent samples of bonsais. It was easy to lose ourselves as we wandered through the grounds. The old back and white pictures were interesting and gave a sense of the importance of the Zhu family and Jianshui in the trading days.
