     Over the last 15 years, numerous changes have taken places in Shanghai and almost made Shanghai into a whole new city. Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall is where you can find how these amazing changes have been planned and how future Shanghai will look like.
     
Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall sits right next to the Shanghai government. It is at a corner of the intersect of Middle Xi Zang Road(西藏中路) and People's Avenue(人民大道).

Within the hall, there are 5 floors above the ground and 2 floors under ground. Each floor focuses on different aspects of Shanghai. On the third floor, there is a huge model of the whole Shanghai. This model is 600 square meters large and it looks just astounding.

island6 Arts Center (Chinese:六岛艺术中心) is a not-for-profit, artist-run space in Shanghai, P.R.C. founded in 2006 by French curator/artist Thomas Charvériat. island6's mission is to provide a forum for contemporary artists whose works explore social, aesthetic, and philosophical issues using multimedia art such as performance, sound, photography and video. The artists collaborate with engineers to extract a moment from crazy, 21st Century Shanghai and slow it down to an isolated existence in electronic art that can mesmerize, if not hypnotize, and be enjoyed and examined repeatedly and eternally. island6 Arts Gallery is located in 50 Moganshan Lu, a well-known art district near the Shanghai Railway Station.

The center is dedicated to identifying emerging artists and encouraging them through risk-taking programs that explore new curatorial models and innovative projects. *island6*'s mission is to provide a forum and support for contemporary artists whose works examine timely and timeless social, aesthetic, and philosophical issues. Since 2006, *island6 Arts Center *has exhibited198 artists from 21 different countries, sponsored 110 resident artists, organized 39 exhibitions, and initiated over 1900 art projects. In 2007, under the artistic direction of Thomas Charvériat & Zane Mellupe, island6 Arts Center established Liu Dao-- a research group including artists, engineers, and technicians devoted to developing technological platforms for the Arts. Liu Dao explores the cultural ramifications of the convergence of art, technology, and science and strives to influence the aesthetic trajectory of the global artist community.
