island6 Arts Center

island6 Arts Center (Chinese:六岛艺术中心) is a not-for-profit, artist-run space in Shanghai, P.R.C. founded in 2006 by French curator/artist Thomas Charvériat.

island6's mission is to provide a forum for contemporary artists whose works explore social, aesthetic, and philosophical issues using multimedia art such as performance, sound, photography and video. The artists collaborate with engineers to extract a moment from crazy, 21st Century Shanghai and slow it down to an isolated existence in electronic art that can mesmerize, if not hypnotize, and be enjoyed and examined repeatedly and eternally.
island6 Arts Gallery is located in 50 Moganshan Lu, a well-known art district near the Shanghai Railway Station.
