The plan for the Capital Museum, located in the Confucius Temple, was prepared in 1953. The museum formally opened in 1981.
    As a major cultural construction project in Beijing in the “10th Five-Year Plan”, the new Capital Museum, approved by Beijing Municipal Government in 1999, further approved by the State Council after being submitted by the National Development and Reform Commission in 2001, finally commenced its construction in December 2001.
    Under the concern and guidance of Beijing Municipal Government, after four years of hard work, the museum finally makes its debut along the western extension of Chang’an Street, the First Street of China. With its magnificent architecture, abundant exhibitions, advanced technology and complete functions, the Capital Museum, large and modern, makes its contribution to the titles such as “famous historical and cultural city”, “cultural center” and “international metropolis” of Beijing and ranks among the first class museums both at home and abroad.

    Hongluo Temple is located northeast of Beijing City. It's about 55 Kilometers far.  It's the biggest Buddhism Temple in the northern China. 

After the visit of Mutianyu Great Wall, Hongluo Temple if a very good choice.  It's about 7 kilometers far from the Great Wall. It was first built in the Dongjin Dynasty, (1670 years ago).       It is covers an area of 8 square kilometers and integrates the natural landscape with manmade features.  Hongluo Temple was renovated during Tang Dynasty. It was called Daming Temple at first, and changed its name Hongluo Temple during Ming Dynasty .

Lusheng Gathering is a kind of traditioanl socializing festival for the minority ethnic groups in Guizhou Province. After having a bumpy harvest every year, different villages hold festivals on different days to celebrate harvest and offer occasions to the youth to socialize. Gulong Lusheng Gathering happening in late autum is such a kind festival for the Miao in Kaili area. On festival days, all girls and women put on their most beautiful traditinal costumes and silver ornaments. Young boys and men play all kinds of music with their traditional instruments----Lusheng pipe made of bamboo. They have been following such kinds of traditional ways to meet each other and date. On the festival site, we will find many other activities such as water buffalo fighting, horse racing, singing competition, etc. It offers occasions for photographers and textile researchers to enjoy daily life of the Miao in Guizhou, as well as their costume, architecture, music, etc. Please contact with us for more informations.

It is a good place for family with kids to go. With kids ice ski place and lovely animals, with perfermance too. The kids love the place. We went there yesterday, and enjoy a nice walk outside. Inside the area is not big, but people are so friendly. We watched the perfermance of the birds, and took care of the lovely animals, and bought a small toy guitar for friend's two year old son. Nice place with clean fast food to supply with too.

LiuyinPark

Liuyin Park is located on the west side of Andingmen Waidajie. It can be easily reached from Andingmen subway station at a 10 minute walk, or using bus no. 108, 104, etc. to Jiangzhaikou station. The park covers a total area of 17 hectares, including 7 hectares of water. It is the only one that shows rural scenery in the central downtown area of Beijing. Decorated by bamboo, willows, flowers, fruit trees and thatched pavilions, the park resembles the countryside. Well designed stone walls add a unique charm. Farming fields and tile roofed farming houses, sheltered in green woods look very harmonious with the natural surroundings.

In early spring, when the ice on the lake begins to thaw, flocks of wild ducks come to the park and build their nests on the Yeyadao (wild duck island) in the centre of the lake. The ducks enjoy the natural scenery and live in harmony with nightingales, magpies and squirrels. In summer the lotus flowers dance in the wind together with the swaying of the willow trees.

It offers a perfect place for a summer resort. In autumn, the yellow reeds wave in the wind. It composes a beautiful picture featuring the landscape of the region of rivers and lakes along the lower reaches of the Yangzi river. In this noisy metropolis, the rare green park has long been called “Village Garden” by local Beijing residents. After visiting the park the Santosa Tea House, being nearby offers high class afternoon tea, or even a delicious southeast Asian dinner.

 

 

 

A special event takes place on Saturday mornings in the park, when everyone goes to the park to join into classical dancing. Don’t forget to bring your evening gown.
