Aberdares is one of the less visited parks in Kenya, yet has a lot to offer. Located in Central Kenya, Aberdares boasts a range of great sceneries including a waterfall, valleys, and the vegetation. A morning excursion to this extraordinary enterprise named after David Sheldrick, who for 30 years run Tsavo East National Park was founded to nurture orphaned elephant calves. The orphanage is now run by his widow, Dalphane, a conservationist who was the first to successfully raise baby elephants.

A tour of the Karen Blixen Museum situated at the foot of the Ngong Hills.

The Museum was originally the home of Karen Blixen of the Out of Africa fame.

This is combined with a visit to the Giraffe Center, an educational centre and part of the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife. The park has a small herd of Rothschild’s Giraffe which are endangered species and you will get a chance to feed them.

The David Sheldrick Animal Orphanage

Its situated on the edge of Nairobi national park on your way to Ngong hills

Here the visitors can observe the amazing accomplishment of the dedicated men and women in the successful rehabilitation and hand rearing of orphaned baby elephants . The orphanage is a charitable organization that has managed to successfully raise 50 baby elephants in the last 29 years . Its open everyday for one hour when the baby elephants take their daily mud baths between 1100hrs and midday.
