A collection of fine sculptural art from different dynasties can be found in Datong. The golden time for ancient Datong was the Northern Wei Dynasty when Datong was taken as the capital city for nearly one hundred years and in the Liao Dynasty when the city was taken as the second capital city for nearly two hundreds years. The sculpture art demonstrated in Yungang Grottoes, Huayan Temple and Shanhua Temple opened a new era in the sculpture history of China. As the home of nearly 100,000 pieces of ancient sculpture, Datong is reputed as ‘Sculpture Capital City of China’. As a model of the combination of sculpture and city planning the Eastern City Wall Belt Park is constituted with the city moat, a sink-style courtyard, green belt, sculpture squares etc. which creates a magnificent view together with eastern city wall. The Eastern City Wall Belt Park is 2 kilometers long and 210 meters wide covering an area of 450,000 square meters. There are altogether six sculpture squares with an area of 2,500 square meters each one with six individual sculptures as its theme. These give every visitor a taste of the human environment and the profound history of the city.

Nuorilang Waterfall (诺日朗瀑布）is located between Nuorilang and Shuzheng Valley. the waterfall is 30m in hight and 270m in width. it is one of China's largest calcified waterfalls. Nuorilang literally means "magnificence in Tibetan language. During the rainy season, the cascading waterfall produces a tremendous noise that ethos repeatedly in the valley. As the water hists the ground, the liquid immediately splashes high up into the air in the form of fine drops. The drops are thrown,blown or projected, forming a splendid water curtain. Visitors often see a rainbow that appears in the curtain when the sun shines upon it. Even at a far distance from the waterfall can be seen and heard an astonishing thundering noise, water mist, and colorful rainbows in the sky forming a wide and dynamic water screen of grandeur. In autumn when the water level is lower,the waterfall presents another wonder. The hinging cliff looks like a colorful silk cloth that matches with the surrounding multi-colored bushes.

The first question still remains a mystery. It is uncertain whether it was formed due to earthquakes, landslides or mud-rock flow. The only way for water to drain in the lake is to evaporate and permeate into the ground.The lake has no fish probably because it is too cold. According to legend a monster ate all the fish a long time ago. The lake is 7.5km in length, and in some parts the lake is 103m in depth.
     Changhai is the largest lake in Jiuzhaigou. The natural beauty of the lake strikes you as vast and infinite, presenting a picture of endless imagination. The lake remains unruffled, clouds float by, and water birds frolic across the lake. The surround green forests grow verdant, casting shadows on the water. Whether or not you believe that a creator exists, this sight will make you feel that there must surely be one. It seems strange that such wonders are set remote like this, where thousands of years may have passed before we come along to appreciate them.
