It is in the west of Zhang Ye city about 40 km.The landform formed 6 million years ago ,which is composed of red gravel,malmstone and mudstone.Because of long time efflorescence and normal erosion ,many isolated mountain peaks and steep strange rocks formed from the verrucano .It is so colorful.Some area it looks like rainbow with seven colors,so this landform got its name from this. It is a wonderful place to enjoy the nature and very good for photographing. In 2015 it was rated as AAAAA tourists attraction.

The Giant Sleeping Buddha Temple is located southwest of Zhangye downtown. It covers an area of about 23,000 square meters, sitting in the east and facing to the west. Until now the existing building in the temple are mainly the giant Buddha temple ,sutra pavilion, clay pagoda,which are all on the axis of the temple.

When you get there,you will see the largest  indoor reclining Buddha sculpture in China.The reclining Buddha was made in West Xia Dynasty about 11 century AD,which is 34.5 meters long.The Buddha's shoulder is 7.5 meters wide. Its ear is 4 meters long,and its feet are 5.2 meters.Behind the reclining Buddha palace there are  hidden Buddhism sutra pavilion and a clay pagoda.

It is an important scenic spot and historic site on the silk road and a landmark building of the famous historical and cultural Zhangye city as well .In 1996, it was listed as one of  national key cultural relics protection units in the fourth batch.

 Pingshanhu grand canyon is about 60 kilometers away from downtown of Zhangye city. It covers an area of 1040 square km. So far, it is a compound scenic spot in China, which is the closest to the city and integrates natural wonders, canyon exploration, geological survey, ethnic customs, cross-country hiking and so on. It can be comparable to Zhangjiajie and Colorado grand canyon,which has been praised by China geographic magazine and famous geological experts and tourists at home and abroad.

The composition of this lanform in the canyon is red bed landform, which came into being 108,000,000 to 240,000,000 years ago.The canyon is characterized by different gullies. The hills look low and gentle. The tonal is mainly with red white and ochre red .The color of the hills shows a bit drab. Most of them are conical or columnar in shape. It is a good place to take photo and hike at the bottom of the canyon. We have two options here which depends on your interest and body quality.

It is located in the west of Zhangye city 60 km. The total area is 300 squarekm,and the core area for visiting is 120 square km. The sea level here is around 1500-2550m. It is the most typical danxia landform in arid areas of China, and also one of the most complete and peculiar danxia landform in China

Binggou danxia landform was rated as the "number 1 of window lattice palatial danxia landform in China's ". The scenic area is widely distributed with the danxia cliff, stone walls, stone columns, peaks, hills and other landform forms. The peak is steep and straight, continuous with magnificent momentum.This area is famous for particular natural statues besides nice colors. Even you can find the epitomes of Louvre,palaces,Buddha shrines and camels,etc.

Binggou danxia is famous for its grand ,precipitous ,magical sceneries ,and is reputated as "the first wonder in the world". It has been rated as one of the "7 most beautiful danxia landforms in China" and one of the "10 most amazing geographical wonders in the world" by China geographic magazine and the national geographic magazine of the United States.

Muta temple, formerly known as wanshou temple, is located in the south street of zhangye county, zhangye city, gansu province. It is the only buddhist pagoda that is survived by zhang ye.

The wooden tower is one of the five - line towers in zhangye city. The tower is 32.8 meters high, eight sides of the ninth grade, each of the eight jiao has a carved head, the mouth contains baozhu, hanging wind chimes. The main body of the tower is wood structure, the outer eaves are built in the building, the inner wall of the tower is hollow brick, each has doors and Windows, floor, corridor and tower heart. The window was carved with flowers, and the lintel was carved with brick. The whole tower is not a single riveting, all depends on the infighting arch, the big beam column link, crisscross, the mutual pull knot, one body. The tower overlooks zhangye, and the beautiful city sunset when the weather is clear. Every evening, there are countless swallows around the tower, very spectacular. In addition, the square is also a place for leisure and entertainment for the public, which can fully feel the city culture and civic life.

Located in the western corner of zhangye city, gansu province, the great buddhist temple is an important scenic spot on the silk road and the landmark building of zhangye. Founded in xixia, it has a history of more than 900 years, which combines han culture and western xia culture.

The temple is built in ancient trees, the ancient trees are in the sky, the green grass shade, the environment is beautiful. Inside the temple, there is a statue of nirvana, the largest indoor living Buddha in the country, with a Buddha figure of 34.5m and a shoulder width of 7.5m, which can lie flat on the middle finger. There are three levels of space in the body of the Buddha, various buddhist treasures, and various scriptures in the head, which were burned and destroyed during the cultural revolution. The grand buddhist temple, the buddhist art exhibition hall, the buddhist exhibition hall, the earth tower, the shanxi conference hall, the pagoda hall, etc. can be visited by tourists.

Kangle grassland is located in Yulmuzhuang Village, Kangle Township, Sunan County, Zhangye City. It is a national 4A level tourist attraction with a total grassland area of 2.68 million mu and a forest area of about 450,000 mu.In this area there are Danxia geological scenery area, Machang Beach grassland, Kanglong Temple, Xueshan adventure tourism area, Shiwo meeting site and other combined tourist attractions.With beautiful scenery, pleasant climate and convenient transportation , it has been built into a fully functional grassland grassland scenic spot of  integrating vacation , entertainment, sightseeing and enjoying ethnic customs.

In Spring and Summer the boundless grassland looks like a large green blanket,where the air is pretty fresh and cool. 100 kinds of birds are living in the pine forests along the grassland. In Autumn wild fruits and red leaves can be found easily. In winter snow covered scenery is still nice.
