A group of 10 very demanding people of mixed abilities on a very tight schedule, Rosie could not have been more helpful, she was brilliant in helping me organize our itinerary before we left home.  the timings were perfect, transport, was great, the accommodation in Seans Guesthouse our favorite of the trip, the food there was excellent. Rosie also helped organize our onward train from Dali

Prompt, kind, courteous, interesting, knowledgeable, excellent English, helpful, very patient and understanding.

I still cannot believe how much we saw in such a short time. Shaka Snow Mountain, Songzanlin Monastary, Shangrila, Baishutai limestone terrace, Hiked the Middle of Tiger Leaping gorge, Three bends, Horse riding at Laji lake ancient tea road, Baishu Ancient village, ladies day in Lijiang and Baishu Village, ( we struck lucky with the date)  and the three pagodas in Dali,  all in three days

My husband and I hired Rosey for nine days in Yunnan Province. She planned a tour that started when she met us at the Lijiang airport with a sign with our name on it and a big smile on her face. First, we went to the towns of Lijaing, Baisha, Shuhe, and Shiguzheng. We then headed for Tiger Leaping Gorge where we got to see the magnificent whitewater, hike into the gorge, and admire the incredible mountains. We enjoyed two nights at her father's guest house in Walnut Grove. We ate two dinners there as well as breakfasts, and the food was excellent. Then we headed to Shangri-la with a stop at the Whitewater Terrace along the way. Our day outing in Shangri-la was a trip to a national park where we took several boat rides through the lakes. Rosey mentioned that every evening, there is folk dancing in one of the squares, so we found the folk dancing, and I joined in the circle--one of the highlights of my time in China! Our next stop was the charming town of Shaxi, one of the towns along the old Tea Horse Caravan Trade Route. We finished our tour with Rosey and our driver Peng in Dali celebrating the Autumn Moon Festival. They bought a huge moon cake and shared it with us.

This is just the overview of our tour with Rosey. She was constantly asking us what we wanted to do and suggesting side trips within the grand plan of the tour. One side trip took us to three pagodas, and we saw many golden monkeys that live in that area. Rosey quickly found out that we like to eat where the locals eat, so she took us to some local restaurants. She selected appropriate hotels for us--clean and comfortable and often charming. At the end, she made contact with our guide for the next phase of our trip and coordinated meeting her in Kunming.

We thank Rosey and her driver Peng for nine delightful days in Yunnan Province and highly recommend her as a tour guide.

Rosie is a fantastic tour guide and tour organiser, and an absolutely lovely person. We organised our trip with her from Australia via email, a few months before we arrived in Lijiang. All communication was easy and answered quickly. Rosie helped to design our 7 day trip for us. English is her second language, which means she is totally fluent in English, not just tourist English. This makes things a lot easier for us English only speakers. She's got a wonderful sense of humour and really loves a giggle. We really loved our time with Rosie. She made us feel totally comfortable. She had a great balance between being around as a guide, and leaving us to have time to ourselves. I thoroughly recommend her and her tour services.
So to what we did, as organised by us and Rosie. It was a 7 day trip.
It started with Rosie picking us up at Lijiang airport, with a big smile on her face.
We then went to Lijiang old town for a visit, then onto Shuhe village.
We spent the first night in Baisha village. Baisha is not far from Lijiang, but its a world away. Its really lovely, quiet and authentic. The hotel that Rosie organised in Baisha was extremely comfortable. Baisha is also where Rosies great cafe is. Really good food. And a great spot to relax. And cold beer.
From here we hiked to Wenhai. That was a hard days hike, up to 3400 metres, it was demanding but satisfying. Rosie skipped up the mountain, and us two 50 yr old puffed our way up. That night was spent in a lovely guest house in Wenhai. Its hard to describe the beauty of the area, with its dramatic scenery and traditional lifestyle. Unforgettable. Next day was some more lovely hiking and then a car ride to the start of Tiger Leaping Gorge. After an easy hike we stayed the night at Naxi Family Guesthouse. Lovely people and spot. Some more hiking in the gorge the next day (I got a horse to carry my gear up the 28 bends, don't be shy, if its how you can complete these walks, then the locals get money and you get to see it). We then had two nights at Seans guesthouse. Lovely accommodation and food. We walked down to the river from here.
After here we took a car to Shangri La, and had a great one night here. Rosie showed us the major sites then left us to our own devices. Perfect,. The hotel was great that was organised.
Next day was a long drive back to Lijiang for the flight out.
Again, I cant recommend her enough. It was all so well organised, and so easy for us. A highlight of our 3 weeks in china. Thanks Rosie.

Traveled with Rosey in July 2013

Rosey is reliable and prompt.  We were a group of 8, and she arranged for a nice car and an excellent driver to take us from Shangri-la to Lijiang.

The two days of hiking in Tiger Leaping gorge with Rosey was the best.  We were traveling with family members young and old, and Rosey was extremely accomodating to our changing needs during the hike.  She really is an expert of the region, and we highly recommend her for trip to the Tiger Leaping Gorge.

My husband and I and another couple visited Lijiang and Shangri-La in October 2013. Prior to our trip, Rosey was very prompt and helpful in all her correspondence. When we arrived she met us at the airport. Sadly she was on her way to be with her mother who was very ill. She had arranged a driver and another wonderful guide for us. Our arrangements were seamless.  We appreciate her professionalism and her ability to make arrangements for us under such personal stress. We highly recommend her and her tours.

We recently had the pleasure of having Rosey as our guide. You could not find a kinder, more helpful and conscientious guide. She is especially knowledgeable about Tiger Leaping Gorge - where she grew up. She also brought us around Lijiang (including the stunning Mu Family Palace) and we had a lovely cycle to Baisha and had lunch there. She really went out of her way to help us and make sure we were okay - incredibly thoughtful. She's very smart, speaks excellent English and I really recommend her very highly. Read less
