Jack´s Tour Like 0

Booked Jack for a three day tour after he helped me distill my wants into a doable itinerary. He was very flexible, patient and available to help without being intrusive. Particularly enjoyed the hole in the wall places he found us to eat exactly as I was hoping. If you're looking for a genuine guy who knows his stuff and makes a tour fit your needs I would highly recommend Jack!

We just returned from a wonderful trip to Chengdu and the Panda Research Base on Nov. 1st. What a fantastic place it is. I have loved pandas since before I can remember and to actually touch one was going to be a dream come true. Well, in Chengdu I managed to do this with the help of Jack, our tour guide for the day. We were put in touch with Jack through the Holiday Inn Chengdu. I wanted a reliable guide to take us to the Panda Breeding Center in Chengdu. Because we only had one day, I needed someone knowledgeable about the panda program and ensure that we could hold a baby panda. Jack was terrific! He and his private driver, arrived at our hotel right on time at 7:30 am, and we went straight to the panda center.
 

Since the pandas are more active in the mornings, it is best to get there early. Jack guided us through the park, spotting many panda eating their morning meal. He made sure we were signed up first to hug a panda. The Research Base is an excellent place for the pandas. They are very well looked after and the enclosures are huge. We saw many pandas while we were there and that included 4 babies in the nursery and more in the kindergarten enclosure. There were about 17 babies of various ages. They were absolutely adorable!  For 2,000 RMB ea. ($328) my husband and I got to hug a year-old female panda and touch & stroke her head and ears. It was surreal. Some people may say it's not worth the money, but to me it was worth every penny. The fee is actually a donation to the Research Center to help with the care & breeding of the pandas. They do make you put on plastic gloves and booties to cover your shoes which does limit the actual "touching" of the panda but it also protects the pandas. After the tour, we were taken to a small room and given photos of ourselves hugging the panda, a t-shirt and many other nice souvenirs!
 

Afterwards, we ate at the on-site restaurant. Jack ordered authentic dishes and explained each one. It really was an experience that I will never forget. They have a nice gift shop with panda-themed items and all proceeds go to the breeding and research program.  I would highly recommend Jack. He was very knowledgeable about the Panda Center; he was very personable, humorous, and patient.  He took us to the airport and even offered to stand in line to check us in for our flight. What a great guy! Hire him, you won't be sorry!  Thanks Jack, for a once in a life time tour!
 

My name is Karen, and my friends and I had a fabulous time in Chengdu, with Jack as our guide.  We were a party of 13 people, and it is difficult to keep track of a big group and to make sure everyone is being taken care of.  Jack did a great job, answering our questions, showing us around, and making sure all our needs were met.  He did all this with patience and good humor.  He took us to the Panda Preserve, which was delightful, and to some very good restaurants.  We only had one day with Jack, but it was just great.  He took us to the train station, where we all bid him and Chengdu a fond farewell before heading to Tibet on the train through the Himalayas.  I would recommend Jack as a guide wholeheartedly.  Hire Jack and you won't regret it, he rocks!

A few days before our trip to Chengdu we visited the Synotrip website and found Jack. After e-mailing him we got a quick respond and booked a daytour - so happy we did! Jack took us early Sunday morning to Chengdu Research Base of giant Panda. We got to se lots of pandas; playing, eating and get nursed meanwhile Jack guided us professionally through the park. After visiting the pandas we headed to Mt Qincheng, the birthplace of taoism, a 1,5h drive from Chengdu. Mt Qincheng was a really beautiful place - nature, mountains, temples, and we stayed there for a coulpe of hours. We recommend this daytrip combination, perfect for one day. We also warmly recommend Jack's professional guiding and his companionable personality.
