About Me

Hello, everybody! I invite all of you to Lviv and Western Ukraine, a hidden gem in the East of Europe. My name is Diana Borysenko. I am 41, a native Lvivian, born and grew up here, graduated from Lviv National Ivan Franko University with the masters degree in English phylology. My second foreign language is German and I am also fluent in Spanish. I've been guiding since 2000 and I have a rich experience in tourism. I am a licensed guide/interpreter and driver with 2 private vehicles: an a/c clean and equipped with safety belts car, 2011 and a modern Minivan Mercedes Vito, 2015 for 6 passengers. I practice group and individual tours within Lviv and all Western ukraine, genealogy tours, business assistance, special interest tours, i.e. Jewish, Ukrainian ethnic, Carpathian mountains, Castles and Fortresses, gourmet, art, music, religious tours and many more. In 2017 Lviv City hall awarded me with a diploma as the best guide for the contribution into development of tourism and culture in Lviv.

I am very fit and positively thinking with a positive mind set  and strong wish to help all the travellers coming to my country.

Looking forward to being your guide in Lviv and Western Ukraine!

Diana was my tour guide on two trips to western Ukraine, one a 3-day trek from Lviv to Ternopil, Vinnytsia, and Uman, and the other involving a full-day tour of Lviv. On both occasions, I found her highly professional, very responsive to my requests and concerns, extraordinary knowledgeable, and an invaluable asset – which is why I jumped at the chance to use her services a second time. Not only did Diana show me the major cultural and historical sites and provide in-depth explanations, she also revealed several obscure and inaccessible hidden gems of interest, which added tremendous value. What’s more, she tirelessly assisted me in researching the family history of a friend (prior to and during my trips) which resulted in great success primarily due to her efforts. Honestly, I would have been lost without her. Diana’s outgoing personality, subtle sense of humor, and zest for life was constantly evident and made my tours that much more amazing. No doubt it will be a treat for anyone who has the good fortune of having Diana for a guide. I strongly recommend her and urge you to secure her services at the earliest opportunity. Read less

If you are planning a trip to Western Ukraine -- especially the oblasts of Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Bukovina, and Ternopil [where my paternal ancestors are from] -- you absolutely must use Diana Borysenko as your guide, translator, driver and all-around tour facilitator with 20 years of experience conducting tours in the area. She just makes things happen and makes the visit one to remember and talk about with friends and family. I first found Diana by a quirk of fate in 2017 when I initially decided to visit my ancestral homeland. and search for family origins in the villages that had been part of our family oral history, delve into the National archives for any records we could find, plus see what that part of Ukraine -- called “Galicia" by my paternal grandparents -- was like. Mind you, I wanted to do all of this over one extended weekend - four days. Diana just made it happen: the villages, the archives, and a tour of three oblasts. I was so impressed with her talents and overjoyed with the results she provided that I returned for 10 days more in 2018, booked her services for two weeks in 2019 and brought along two of my siblings as well to share the adventure with. You can read all about our exploits in a series of blogs I wrote on our family website: https://www.ruthenians.net/kArpatia/blogroll-main/travel-blogs/ Enjoy and be prepared for the time of your life!
