We had 2 days tour with Melody and it was very good professional tour. We had a great time with Melody she speak very good English and  gave us the information that we wanted to hear and very pleasant. We are strongly recommended to take her tour

We booked a last minute tour with Melody today.  She was available and did a great job taking us around getting to know the center of Shanghai or the modern Shanghai.  We chose to use public transportation so that we could be with the people and get to know what it was like to be with the people.  We are originally from Hawai'i but live in California and don't usually take a taxi or we both haven't taken a metro before so we thought it would be a great experience.  It truly was a great experience plus I wanted to learn how the metro system works.  You really get to see more things taking the metro and get places faster.  Our first stop was People's Square wherre we saw how Shanghai looke before and then into the present with a large modlel display.  Loved the virtual painting of Past China and the Museum that was holding the display from the 2010 expo.  Got to go down to the financial district and see the tallest buildings with the amazing sculptured buildings.  We also went down to the waterfront.  We also went to a fabulous lunch.  It was nice to have someone who is friendly, reliable, flexible, helpful and knows her way around town.  It was also wonderful to have her to help to translate for us when we wanted to buy something.  Learned so much and would so use her again for future plans.  Thank you so much for being accommodating for myself and my dancer who was over 75 years old.

Following a business trip to Beijing, I had the pleasure of visiting Shanghai for the first time. Thanks to a TripAdvisor review, I discovered Melody and I am very grateful that I hired her to guide me. During 3 1/2 days, we saw the wonderful sights in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Tongli. I enjoyed Melody's understanding of the history of the various attractions and her insights into life in modern day Shanghai. Melody made the visit efficient and delightful.

My first trip to China was an outstanding success thanks to having Melody’s help for 2 days, and as a result I had a very enjoyable time in Shanghai & Hangzhou. I contacted Melody by email approximately 6 weeks before the trip and arranged airport pickup, a day tour of Shanghai and a day trip to Hangzhou. Melody was flexible and included everything I wanted to see & do and created a practical itinerary in line with my interests and the time available.
On arrival everything worked out as planned, Melody is reliable friendly and very knowledgeable about Shanghai. Melody is also a registered tour guide and very professional.
Melody included some interesting Chinese cultural traditions into the tour such as: a free tea ceremony, some local cuisine, and a visit to the Confucius temple and information about Confucius from a student volunteer.
Everywhere we went Melody was able to suggest tips and provide commentary about the history and I believe more than just a tour guide. Melody’s tours are interesting and good value for money.
If I return to Shanghai I would have no hesitation of contacting Melody again.

I guess many people go for big group tours to keep the price down. I always thought private tours were too expensive until I used Melody as our tour guide. The cost of her services were excellent value, she also could get you many additional benefits that you couldn’t easily get on your own; her local knowledge was priceless, she knew the right places to go and the right people to see. As we had three large suitcases we asked her to book a car for us. She booked a chauffeured car; this cost only slightly more than a taxi, it was very spacious and comfortable. As a professional tour guide she was full of ideas and made great suggestions and we got tickets for really fun activities. We asked about an acrobatic show and Melody kindly helped us book the tickets. Upon her suggestion we got tickets for the lowest priced seats, and the show was amazing. I am really interested in Chinese culture and I mentioned that I would like to try some tea in the Mid-lake Pavilion Tea House (which I saw advertised). Melody recommended another teahouse and took us to a free tea ceremony. Some of my friends had told me about tea ceremony and Chinese massage scams and we felt that we needed advise. Melody sorted it all out; we thoroughly enjoyed all our events without having to worry about our safety - and of course the price was great value. Melody certainly saved us money in the market; I was so pleased when she was able to get us 20% off the listed price for silk scarfs. With consideration to all of these benefits, I would highly recommend Melody as a private tour guide if you ever go to Shanghai.
Tour guides like Melody help you get great value for your money; they ensure your safety; give you great advice; and make your stay so relaxed and enjoyable. Here’s my tip; if you can find some other friends to share the cost of the tour guide, it becomes even better value.

I came to Shanghai last month with my parents and my 76-year-old grandma. I don’t really like following a guide while traveling, but for the sake of my elderly companions I decided to use a tour guide. I chose Melody because her price was lower than others and the way she answered the emails was very professional. The two days were most enjoyable. We were relieved to go at a slow pace (Melody seemed to know what we wanted) and we had some lovely pictures in: People’s Square, Old Town, the Bund and Zhujiajiao Water Village. We were extremely happy that Melody found us delicious and inexpensive Muslim restaurants. She was a sweet and caring girl; she kept asking us to watch the way and take care of our belongings. I would like to express my special thanks for all her hard work. She stated on her website that her charge was based on eight hours work a day, but her actual work time far exceeded that, as she insisted on accompanying us till the end of the night river cruise for our safety. I offered to pay her extra, but she only accepted a little fee for the taxi. She cared for us much more than for herself. I recommend Melody very highly as a guide. She was our friend in Shanghai and such a nice guide.
