I and 3 friends visited Shanghai in June and we were lucky enough to have Melody as our tour guide for 3 days. We found Melody to be a delightful young lady who went out of her way to make sure we all had a wonderful experience whilst in the city. Amongst other things we did a river cruise and a tour of a water village just outside Shanghai on her advice. We were extremely pleased with her suggestions and her organization and willingness to do whatever it took to please us.

Melody has a lovely calm and warm nature, speaks very good English and has a great knowledge of her home town. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing a tour guide in Shanghai.

My wife and I recently engaged Melody as a tour guide for an intensive one day tour of Shanghai. I emailed Melody at short notice and she responded quickly. With a couple of emails we established a suitable intinary suited to our preference of eating local food and either walking or using local public transport. We met Melody in the lobby of our hotel at 8am as arranged and had a street breakfast of delicious steamed buns.Then it was off for the initial walking part of our tour.Melody's English is excellent helped no doubt by the year she spent studying in the UK. Her knowledge of both the old and new part of the city is excellent and she was happy to discuss life in Shanghai and China generally. We took in the older historic part of the city first, had lunch in a local restaurant then toured the amazing new commercial centre including go up to the viewing platform of the World Financial Centre. The fact that Melody is a licensed guide means that she can accompany her clients to the various attractions at no cost.The clients simply pay for themselves. We had indicated that we would like to attend an acrobatic show that night for which Melody kindly arranged the tickets. We wrapped up our tour around 5pm with a gap of a couple of hours before needing to leave to go to the acrobatic show by taxi. Melody insisted on coming back at that time and accompanied us to the venue before heading off home. We found Melody to be an excellent choice of a guide for Shanghai and would reccomend her to anyone seeking a pleasant and knowledgeable person to spend time with .Malcolm & Lesley McLagan, New Zealand. 

I was in Shanghai with  a group for business and decided to add a couple of days for "free" time. To use that limited time efficiently I chose Melody from a few guides on line as her written communication was excellent and, after concise enquiry about what I was going to be doing with the group and my additional interests, likes etc  she quickly put together a program which catered to my needs and minimized time wasting. Over the 2 days she was not only knowledgeable, easy to understand and converse with( excellent English)  very courteous and charming and to be frank very honest in answering the million questions I had about life in China. Most enlightening indeed.

I thoroughly enjoyed our time together and found Melody to be absolutely delightful.

Points to note:
Do let Melody know the sort of things you are interested in so she can plan accordingly. She is really good at helping you through that process via email.
If you want any specific items such as jewellery, tailor made clothing etc let her know before you get here. She will ensure its a painless and efficient experience to get what you want, without time wasting or being concerned if you're getting quality and value.

If you plan well and communicate with her before and during your trip I have no doubt you will be very satisfied with your tour and as enchanted with her as I was!

Finally, I would certainly recommend a guide if you are here for a short time. English is a little spoken language in China. Just getting around from place to place can be a chore. Its worth the money to engage Melody to take care of that for you and let you enjoy the stay and avoid the hassle!

Melody is a very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating guide. She recently took my girlfriend and I on an interesting tour of major sites in Shanghai, including the fabulous Bund waterfront. Her local knowledge is impeccable, and she even introduced us to a local delicacy, Chinese Egg Tarts (a must try!). All in all, our time in Shanghai would have been far less fulfilling had we not had Melody showing us what's what!

Melody is wonderful! She is very friendly and knowledgeable. She knows everything about Shanghai! She helped us book the hotel and flight tickets, bargain with the vendors in souvenir shops, find tasty Halal restaurants, showed us some less crowded but very lovely places, and gave a lot of useful travel tips... My husband and me had very good time in Shanghai with Melody. I would highly recommend her!

Hi Melody, thank you for such a great trip in Shanghai. Your help getting around was most welcome! I really appreciate you managed the time due to a short notice. I would like to come back and see more of the city one day!
