 The evening show of "Impression Sanjie Liu" was performed at the world's largest landscape theatre. The world-famous director zhang yimou who had successfully directed the opening and closing ceremonies of 2008 Beijing Olympic Game acted as the general director, he spent three and a half years to completed such a huge project and it became a new highlight in China's tourist circle. The total investment reached up to 300 million Yaun, the stage took 12 peaks as its background and stretched 2 Km into the Li River, finally constituted the world's largest natural theatre on the Li River.

The performance was based on a widely known folktale of Sanjie Liu, who was considered as the Muse of the Zhuang People, it successfully annotated the harmonious relationship between man and nature, created a realm of " man is an integral part of nature" and it was reputed as "the masterpiece that cooperated with god". It's the combination of folkways, ethnic songs and fishing lights on the Li River, with high-tech to got the whole picture of the lifestyle of the Zhuang, Yao, Miao and Dong peoples lived in this region.

The evening show takes the color of red, white, silvery and yellow as its main tone to create the different scenes of spring, summer, autumn and winter, by using the high-tech to produce the inconceivable haze effect and visual effect, from a new Angle to sublime Guilin's landscape, it's the feast of hearing and watching.

It's said that about 800 performers involved in the show, wearing various of national garments with many silver ornaments on it, they were singing and dancing accompanied with melodic music, sing the praises of their perfect life. The performance focus on the resources of Guangxi's music, natural scenery and folk custom , by seeing the performance, but also see the people's daily life of the LI River. 
 

The theatre sits at the confluence of the Li River and Tianjia River, the greening rate here reaches of more than 90 percent, the light system and the audio system are invisible designed, the theatre equips with 2200 seats,  including ordinary seats 2000, VIP seats 180 and President seats 20. During the peak season, all the seats are occupied by the tourists, you have to book the ticket  at least a day beforehand.

 

Bajiaozhai, situated in the boundary areas between Guangxi and Hunan provinces, which is 138 Km north of Guilin City.

Bajiaozhai, also known as Yuntai Shan, it's remarkable for its Danxia topography and it's the combination of the sturdiness of Mt Tai ( Shandong province), the steep of Mt Hua ( Shaanxi province) and the elegance of Mt Emei ( Sichuan province). the main peak is Yuntai Peak, which is 818 meters above the sea level. the scenery including  the group of snails looking up the sky, the ancient trail, the Valley of life and death, Eye-stone, Joss stick of dragon's head and the Treasured sword Peak, etc. Here you can enjoy the sunrise or sunset and the sea of clouds.

Generally speaking, the Danxia rock formation in the inland basin was originally a red rock debris, and later, it uplifted due to the movement of the earth-crust, erosion of rocks by the water and weathering, which was dominant in the hillside to collapse back, kept down the rocks to form the red mountain block. In 1996, the Ministry of Forestry approved Bajiaozhai as a national forest park and this area was listed into the Natural Heritage of the world in 2009 by UNESCO.

The geologists and experts have praised it as " the Soul of Danxia Landform ".

"Fishing-lights on the Li River" is the one of eight typical excellences in Yangshuo, Guilin. the municipal government has approved to hold the " Fishing-Light Festival " in Yangshuo in decembers every year since 1999, the aim is to spread the traditional Chinese life-style outside the world.

Cormorants are skillful fish catchers, and the good assistants of fishermen as well, catching fish by cormorants with fishing-lights is a traditional folkway of fishermen who lived along the Li River. In the past, the fishermen in the Lijiang River used to go fishing at night, often sent out dozens of hundreds of bamboo-rafts, bringing together at  White-Sand Bay, the fisherman who lighted fishing- lantern on the rafts,so as to lure fish on the hook. The inverted reflection of the fishing-lights in the river lit up the riffling spray, just like a starry night in the sky, the bamboo- rafts shuttling on the river, and when the time the cormorants are now diving in the water, all these elements that consists of a scene as " a river is full lighted up in red by the fishing-lights". it is amazing!

When evening is approaching, the fishmen begin to row their rafts into the river, hanging up a gas lamp( original one is torch) on the rafts, using the fish's habits of chasing the light in dark, and set down the fishnets to trap the fish, and then drive the cormorants into the river to catch the fish one by one for them. It's said that the cormorants were tied with a thread around their necks properly, so that when a cormorant once catch a fish that it can't swallow it down into its stomach, he has to spit it out to the fish-basket, a cormorant can support a family's life.

Red Yao is another branch of the Yao people, who are mainly inhabited in northwest part of Guilin, it gets its name for wearing red clothing everyday. Yao women are very good at needleworks and good embroidery. Red Yao men have basically no features of their dresses, middle-aged women wearing traditional costumes still have the habit - pink shirt, black pleated-skirts, which are very charming and beautiful. Red Yao women's clothing look very good. Generally speaking, their costumes are the recoil sleeved upper body suits, mainly in red tone, with a variety of styles of design.

Huangluo Township of Longsheng County, Guangxi Province, there're more than 100 women with long hair that make their village become world-famous long hair village. Yao's woman has long hair as their own tradition of Second Life, at the age of 18, a grown-up ceremony is held for them, their hair are cut in the ceremony for the first time, but also the last time for their entire life. Usually when comb their hair that  fall off, they would pick up one by one to coil in their hair again. From their hair-style, you can judge who is married or unmarried. Their hair must be untied by their grooms in the  bridal chamber on the wedding day. Their hair remain very long and are coiled on their  heads, black, very shiny, they say they are usually washed their hair out with the water that clean out the rice before cooking.
