These hidden old apartments, they look really too common. But when you walk along the road and get close to the apartments, you will see there is a sign. This is something interested you. After you walk more closer, you may see many names on the sign wall.

This building seems just very common stands on the road side. If you don't know the history or the culture, you really don't know about it.

This building was special because of once here lived a famous common novel writer. Her name is Chang-Eileen. She was the pronoun of  middle class, exquisite,taste, fashion,etc. Young people in Shanghai like her so much even though she has past so many years.

You must think about spring , it is really too common and boring. Ok,but you don't know about the culture of China. When I tell why the spring is special, you will feel surprised.

First I should tell you that the spring is nature, it not man-made, this is the first special thing. And it called the Eighth spring in the world.

Second the place is special. According Buddhism superstition, we call "fengshui" that if you build a house which faces to a water river or sea, and leans on the mountains at behind, so it is the great fengshui to a house. Then we see the Jiangan temple is just behind the spring, and in old time behind the temple there are must some mountains, but now we can't see any. It doesn't matter, we have tall buildings, they just instead of mountains. So if there is a temple, this place must be a very good "fengshui" place. So the spring is very special,alright? We have to pay attention on it, lol.

If you talk about Shanghai, you must mention Nanjing road, if you mention Nanjing road, you must think about the Bailemen.

This was such famous entertainment place in the 20's or 30's time.  The people of rank and fashion society came here to dance and drink. Here has the most beautiful  girl dance partners, here the wine is the best. Foreigners  were very popular to go to this place. Because of people from all parts of the society, so here also had some political events, hidden or loud.

It was really a mess up place. But which is also the charming of this place. We have to have a look about Bailemen.

Jingan Temple is not only a temple. Ok, but here has a real temple. But Jiangan temple is a quite a big area. This is the place now the most foreigners live and work here. We can say this area are the most center of Shanghai. When you see the people walking on the street, they seems much fashion than other places.

Jiangan temple once was American colony area. Now here located many cafes, star hotels, luxury shopping. This is the area we must have a look.

This building is instead the friendship between China and Russia. It also shows the history of China. As we know when our republic of China was just created, Russia helped us a lot, how to manage the finance, how to  develop the country,etc

Today it is a exhibition hall. Such as some old furniture showings.
