Tianzifang

Tianzifang is at the lanes of Taikang Road. It developed from local residence area, to a new art zone. The Taikan Road is an area where artist gathers in the downtown Shanghai. Then without people even noticed, the lanes along the Taikan Road developed to a new attraction.

As you can see from the picture above, the narrow lanes were laid out, and people enjoy their dinner. Most of the rooms are galleries, and art shops there. It is a very different feel from either the Xintiandi (it is too modern), or the Moganshan Road (too artistic).

Zhujiajiao has formed village 1700 years ago, and has become town in Wanli Period of Ming Dynasty. So far there are the ancients and tools people used 5000 years ago found in Zhujiajiao.

Zhujiajiao is famous with rice market, so far there are a lot of flourishing marks:Daqing Post Office,Rice and Oil shop, bank,electrics factory and old real estate.

There are several bridges across the river, nine long streets along the river, thousands of Architectures of Ming and Qing Dynasty stand by the river, 36 stone bridges still across the rivers. 

JuJiaZhou is  a historic water village close to Shanghai with a history dating back well over 1000years.  Luckily much of the original structures still stand and give a clear idea of life in days gone by.  You'll find it's small curving laneway streets bustling with tourists and local people going about their daily life as if nothing has changed there.   This is a lovely place to a ride on the traditional boatsalong the river and get a look at the town from both the water and the laneways.

Shanghai's Glass Museum is an interesting place to visit that tells a story of its previously operational glass factory.   It has a hugh variety of interesting items to see, but what I liked most was actually being able to get a hands on experience at making your own creations.  This is well worth a visit if you have time to spare.    located at 685, West Changjiang road, Baoshan District.    You can catch the metro (Line 1) to get there, getting off at South Changjiang road station.  Entry is 20rmb per person.
