Taoping Qiang Village is located in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture,220km away from Chengdu.

Qiang people is one of the lodest people of 56 Peoples of China.

with the hills at its back and a river in front of it, facing the south, has a systematic and intricate layout. it is a

typical example of the Qiang architectural art. the stockaded village is known as "a mysterious ancient castle in the

East". Among all the buildings, the blockhouse is the landmark of the Qiang village. it is the tallest building, a

stronghold which was contrusted to fight against invaders.

The Qiang blockhouses are contrusted in shapes of different kinds, such as the tetragonal, hexagonal or octagonal shapes;

some of them have thirteen or even fourteen storey, more than 30 meters in height. Most of them are made of flagstones

stuck with clay mud. The edges of the blockhouse look sharp and straight as if they were cut with a knife, and the surface

of the walls are smooth, solid and durable. They have stood aloft there for thousands of years.

Qiang Village is like a maze
When you stand on the house roof, you will find the village presents a layout of houses adjoinhing houses which are

accessible to one another. Entering the village lanes, you may think that each house is seperated, but when you wanl on the flat roofs, you will find that all the houses are connected by the roofs. with such an effective dfense system the villagers could help each other in case that someone is in trouble. The whole village is built just like a maze, where the villagers might set up ambushes and the intruders were likely to lose their way and therefore dared not dash about. Below the village, is hidden a great water network.
underground ditch that leads to every household. The ditch is lined and covered with greenish stones slabs. Spring water flows through the ditch to every household from the mountaintop so that the people can fetch water indoors. In time of war they were not afraid of being surrounded by enemy forces, as the water supply system  might help them hold fast to their post for a long time. Beside, this water network serves as a perfect fire-fighting facility and a safe underground passageway.

Looking at such plain and solid blockhouses, you can imagine how this old ethnic group has managed to survive with great tenacity and willpower in this narrow space enclosed by ranges of mountains.

Panmen Scenic Area, located in the southwest of the old city of Suzhou, has the historical Ruiguang (Auspicious Luster) Pagoda, the unique Water-and-Land City Gates and the well-known Wumen Bridge. The Longqingxia is also called Longqing Gorge.  It's a very beautiful place to go to visit in Summer.  The popular name is "Mini Lijiang". The view can compare with the real Lijiang in the southern China.

The temperature is lower about 6 ℃ than the Beijing City. So there is the Ice Lantern Festival every year around the Lunar New Year. It's from 15th Jan. to the end of the Feb..  It's really a good Choice in Winter. It has a different theme every year.  The children can also enjoy the snow carving , Ice Slide way and etc..

The Underground Palace is from Dingling, the tomb of the 13th emperor in the Ming Dynasty.

The 13th Ming Emperor Zhuyijun was buried together with his two empresses. The Tomb was built from 1584～1590. It is the only one tomb has been excavated so far.

The Underground Palace is about 27 meters deep. The vaulted halls were built of stone, without any using of single beam or column. There are 5 chambers: The antechamber, middle chamber,rear chamber and two annex chambers on double sides of the middle chamber. It's very interesting to  explore the ancient tomb in Dingling. The excavation work started in May 1956. And took 2 years to complete. Totally there are more than 3,000 pieces of precious objects excavated from Dingling, mainly gold plates, basins, cups, bowls, spoons, gold and silver ingots, jewelry, etc.  Now some of the objects are showing in the Dingling Museum.

Tanzhe Temple is the oldest temple in Beijing. It said that we first have the temple then have the city.  It is located in the outskirt of Beijng. During weekend , it is full of people from the inner city for blessing.

Shidu--The Guilin of  The North.

Sometimes dubbed 'the Guilin of the North,' Shidu Scenic Spot is located along the middle-upper reaches of Juma River in Fangshan District, 100 kilometers from the city.

There are 10 river bends along this segment of the river, o­n each of which a ferry crossing was set up. Hence the name Shidu means '10 ferry crossings' in Chinese.

Shidu is the o­nly natural scenic spot in north China that is characterized by karst peak forests and river valley topography. There is beautiful scenery o­n each ferry crossing.

The varied terrain -- the winding river course, deep here and shallow there, broad here and narrow there, and the rolling hills, sometimes undulating sharply and sometimes slightly -- forms the distinctive style of the scenic spot.

Convenient amenities make Shidu a very attractive tourist resort. To date, nearly 200 films and TV programs have chosen Shidu for location shooting.

Bungee jumping is a more recent attraction of the area. It claims to be the first place to offer a bungee facility for adventurers in China.

The mountain of Shidu is steep, the water is clear, peaks, rocks form a contrast to the water, caves, brooks and ponds. Every three steps, there is a scenery, every five steps, there is a painting, it is like a gallery, every 100m, there is a bridge, every 1000m, there is a ferry crossing. All the four seasons are like paintings.
