The Chinese Culture Garden opened in September 2001, 500 meters from the Langfa Exit of the Fifth Ring Road and about 18 kilometers from downtown Beijing, and is a theme park focusing on developing Chinese culture and spreading patriotic education. The Chinese Cultural Garden occupies an area of 333,000 square meters. Its south gate is in the shape of a tripod and its west gate is in the shape of a “Pingshouqiaozububi Coin”. Its east gate is a dynamic sculpture, combining Qufu Colored pottery basins and pottery Gui, which represent the cultural image of the garden. The scenery can be summed up with the words “one spirit and three gardens”. One spirit refers to the Artistic Wall representing the Chinese spirit and the three gardens the Tranquil Garden, Dynamic Garden and Yixian Garden. History, important events, famous figures, cultural achievements, discoveries and inventions are engraved on the “Artistic Wall displaying China’s spirit” 2.4 meters in height and 2.3 kilometers in length. Standing in front of the wall, one will feel awe whilst facing and talking about history, and the spirit of the Chinese ancients.

The “Tranquil Garden” occupies an area of 62,000 square meters. There is a lake of 15,000 square meters in the garden. There is a unique “Dragon Character Wall” together with the tranquil garden. The word “dragon” as written by 999 calligraphers is engraved on the expansive walls. The garden also includes the Lucky Deer Turning Round, Wenyuan Palace, Bamboo Garden, Cultural Corridor, Music Fountain, and the open air theatre in the “Dynamic Garden”. Yixian Garden is composed of Crescent Lake and 12 ancient quadrangles. The Chinese Culture Garden inherits the characteristics of ancient royal gardens whilst incorporating the style of modern gardens. The regular themed activities of the garden include “sunshine travel in search of the Chinese spirit” in spring, “dating in fields” in summer, and “historical travels in China” in autumn. Tourists can ride electric bicycles to enter the garden, view the history and scenery, and appreciate Chinese culture.

Beijing New Concept Survival Island Tourism Base is a large-scale base providing opportunities for creating, exercising, aesthetic appreciation, vacationining and training activities. It was opened at the end of 1998. The survival island has an area of 500,000 square meters, providing five categories of activities including survival and outward bound training, new concept travel, group recreation, self rescue training for students, and old cadre recreation.

Survival and outward bound training:

It is a kind of education through experience, and a training for people’s mental acuities. Different from the traditional education form, it utilizes the natural environment and carefully designed activities, so as to allow participants to understand principles by themselves, allowing them to develop their potential, challenge limits, cultivate taste, strengthen will, perfect personality and build team spirit. The project is marked by unique creativity, integrating education, interaction, challenges and practicability. It encompasses the essences of management, psychology, dynamics, and organizational behavioral study. The teaching contents, aiming at different fields and meeting different requirements, include: Initiation training for new employees, building a new team---training for team spirit, new concepts for management---training for leadership, improving mindsets---training for government employees. Based on the theory in the book of “The Fifth Discipline”, integrating the “NLP” at the frontier of psychological study, this project meets the requirements of the times, promotes a series of courses under the assistance of experts, and helps you “surpass yourself”, learn how to “study in a group”, improve your “mode of thinking”, and establish initial “study-type organization” by using “systematic thinking”, so it is a brand new learning and training method for modern people and modern organizations.

Featured Attractions: The Beijing Survival Island has survival experience area, crafts area, farming technology area, military entertainment area and a catering and accommodation area. The mountain training camp includes a single-plank Bridge, winding stairs, grass skating and so on. The craft garden has many kinds of crafts. The Xiangshui Lake Scenic Area is located to the west of Mutianyu Great Wall in Huairou District, about 85 km from downtown Beijing. It occupies an area of 18 km and stretches about 5 km long. The scenic area is a splendid natural valley with a section of the Great Wall, an ancient cave, beautiful mountains, clear springs and ponds, as well as a spectacular waterfall. Xiangshui Lake is, in fact, not a lake but rather an opening of water from the head of a spring in a valley.

The lake is called Xiangshui Lake (Ringing Water Lake), because it is possible to hear the sound of its running water from afar. The spring is the biggest one in Huairou District, and the water is sweet and refreshing. There are lofty cliffs and steep mountains with diverse rocks and unique peaks on both sides of the valley. The section of the Great Wall was built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and winds up and down the green hills, resembles a gigantic dragon flying into the sky. The Moshikou Pass was considered an important pass of the Great Wall and was built in 1404 during the Ming Dynasty. The natural Lianyun Cave and Totem Pavilion halfway up the wall add mystery to the ancient pass. The Moya Inscription carved during the Ming Dynasty makes the pass even more majestic. The most stunning scenery in this area is undoubtedly the grand waterfall. The impetuous springs rush down the mountain and form the compelling sight of a waterfall for all to enjoy.

Featured Attractions: The service facilities of the scenic area are excellent. The Xiangshui Villa in an ancient architecture style in full view. The restaurants here mainly offer countryside fare, rainbow trout, and barbecues. During the evening, visitors can make a bonfire, let off fireworks, sing loudly and dance.
