Shangri-la
AShangri-la is located in the Diqing Tibetan Autonomous prefecture in the northwest of Yunnan province.Its the center of Yunnan,Sichua and Tibet. The county occupies an area of 11613 square kilometers and has a population of over 120000. The main residents numbering 40% are the Tibetans. Other ethnic minorities include the Naxi,Pumi,Lisu and so on. Zhongxin Town of the county is the seat of the prefecture government. Shangri-la is plateau is known as a piece of mysterious beautuful and fertile land. It has the beautiful scenery of the Yunnan and resources of tourism. The Sumzanling monastery
The Songzanlin Monastery, often called Ganden Sumtseling Monastery or Guihua Monastery, is located at the foot of Foping Mountain near Shangri-La County in Yunnan Province. The monastery is built on a hillside and looks like an ancient fort. The Songzanlin Monastery is often called the little Potala Palace because of its traditional Tibetan architectural style.
Brief Introduction

Being the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan, Songzanlin Monastery, also known as Guihua Monastery, is one of the famous monasteries in the Kang region. The monastery is located near Shangri -La County, at the foot of Foping Mountain.
Construction of the monastery began in 1679 and was completed two years later. The monastery seems like a group of ancient castles and is composed of two lamaseries, Zhacang and Jikang. The gilded copper roof endows the monastery with strong Tibetan features and the 108 (an auspicious number in Buddhism) columns downstairs also feature the monastery with characteristics of Han nationality. The main halls in the monastery are magnificent, and on both the left and the right sides are wonderful frescos, depicting Buddhist tales and legends. The inside-halls are exquisite with cloisters running through. The cloisters are all decorated with beautiful sculptures and consummate frescos.
The monastery is full of treasures. There are a lot of golden figures of Buddha josses, golden lamps, Tibetan lections, silver censers and so on. All of these are wonderful collections accumulated from each dynasty. They are precious productions made by people of both Tibet nationality and Han nationality.
Songzanlin Monastery has another alias - 'the little Potala Palace“, so named because the whole monastery is in the traditional style with mysterious atmosphere. In 1679, Dalailama chose this place by divination, and it went on to become the uppermost public place in Yunan which features the particular local characteristics. Annually, the Gedong Festival is celebrated here by the Tibetans. Pious believers, with their knees and foreheads knocking the ground at every step, come here to pray

Today you will have the car from Shangri-la to Daocheng about 6hours driving,but the sceneries are very beautiful. Such as the Shangri-la big Snow Mountain and Shangri-la Grand canyon...Wuming snow mountain

Daocheng
Daocheng is located at the south of Gantse Tibetan Prefecture, at the southwestern border of Sichuan Province. It is around 800 kilometers away from Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan province and 430 kilometers away from Kangding, capital of Gantse Prefecture.
Daocheng has long enjoyed great fame as the "last shangri-la" among Chinese travelers due to its breath-taking natural scenery. The area, located at an average elevation of 3800m, is full of alpine views of floppy blue sky, loquacious rivers and lakes, broad pastures and snow capped mountains.
Daocheng is home to many endangered species. Long-tailed leaf monkeys, golden monkeys, white-lipped deer, red deer, water deer, argali, antelope enjoy their life freely in this vast land, untouched by human beings.
Day 4 DaochengYading
Today you will take car from Daocheng to Yading about 3hours drive, on way to visit Tibetan buddhist temple. Lunch at Riwang then Change green-bus to Yading. This afernoon hiking Yading,visit Chonggu temple and Zhengzhu Lake.

Zhengzhu lake
Yading scenic area is located in Daocheng county Ganzi Tibetan prefecture Sichuan province. It's know as"The soul of Shangri-la". Beacause it is located at  the centre of Shangri-la's Eco-tourism.and is a provincial and national-level nature reserve. It was listed as the Man and Bioshere nature reserves by UNESCO in 2003 and the three anow capped peaks og Yading were praised as one of the ten famous mountain ranges in China in 2005.Yading also was chosen as one of themost beautiful place in China. with its combination if magnificent highlight ecology. peculiar glacier physiognomy,Strong Tibetan Buddism and colorful customs of Khamba<Kangba> show all of Shangri-la's characteristics of "Calm, peace,purity and mystery". Yading has been kept as the most complete and pristine natural ecosystem in the country.
   The key part os Yading's scenery is its three snow capped peaks. their history can be traced to the Buddist world where there are twenty-four fammous holy land. in which Yading's peaks are elevanth.In the 8th century ,the great master padmasambhava gave thre holy names to the peaks: The north peak is Xiannairi, is Avaloktesvara Boddisattva<6032 meters above sea-level>. The south peak:Yangmaiyong is Manjusri bodhisattva<5958 meters above sea-level>. The East peak: Xianuoduoji, is Vajrapani Bodhisattva<5958 meters above sea- level>.

Day 5Hiking Yading
Today you will take our picnic lunch hiking Yading. Yak meadow,Three holy mountains and Milk Lake

The Yading
As an ancient capital city to 13 dynasties, Xian has a rich recorded history, The Three Mountains of God 三大神山

Xiannaiyue, Yangmaiyong, and Xianuoduoji are the names of "the Three Mountains of God". In local customs they are the patron saints of the Tibetan people. It is said that a Tibetan will realize his wishes if he makes pilgrimages three times to these three mountains.

Xiannaiyue snow mountain is the highest of the three, and the fifth highest mountain in Sichuan Province. It is 6,032 meters high. Tourists are attracted by Xiannaiyue’s special glaciated landforms. Yangmaiyong is 5,958 meters above sea level, as is Xianuoduoji. Waterfalls and many pristine lakes dot the harmonious mountain picture.

Gongga Chonggu Temple 贡嘎冲古寺
This temple is the place you must pass by when going to the Three Mountains of God. It is an old temple, originally built 800 years ago in the Yuan Dynasty.
Though the old temple is incomplete, every morning and noon tourists still can see Lamas sitting in meditation, reading from prayer books there. It is an important relic of local religion.

Riding a horse from Yading to Gongga Chonggu Temple is interesting, and takes only about 30 minutes.

Luorong Pasture 洛绒牧场

It is the most popular overnight stop in Yading scenic region. Luorong Pasture is surrounded by the Three Mountains of God, with Gongga River running through and cabins interspersed on it. You might like to camp there.

Tibetan-style houses and temples will also catch your eyes. This is a place where ecology and humans live in harmony.

Wuse Lake and Milk Lake 五色海和牛奶海

These two lakes are close to each other, lying between Xiannaiyue and Yangmaiyong snow mountains. They are both famous for their kaleidoscopic bursts of color under the light of the sun.

Day 6YadingShangri-la
Today you will take our car back from Yading to Yunnan Shangri-la. one the way also nice sceneries.

Day 7Departure Shangri-la

   Lijiang-Shangrila-Meili Snow Mt.-Derong-Xiangcheng-Yading-Daocheng-Litang-Yajiang-Xindu Bridge-Seda-Danba-Rilong-Chengdu

Day 1 & 2 Arrive in Lijiang for 1 or 2 days, so your body would slowly get more used to higher altitude. Altitude in Lijiang at 2400 meters.

Day 3 Drive 2 hrs to Tiger Leaping Gorge, then another 2 hrs further up to Shangrila, the first Tibetan stop in Yunnan. O/N Shangrila, altitude at 3300 meters.

Day 4 Explore the beautiful country around Shangrila, take visit to Songzanlinsi Lamasery, Napa Lake and beautiful Tibetan Villages, then jump into Tianshengqiao Hotspring for a thorough bath, before taking our pilgrimage deep into Tibetan region. O/N Shangrila

Day 5 Visit the beautiful Pudacuo National Park. Then drive 210 kms to Meili Snow Mountain. O/N Feilaisi, Atitude at 3400 meters.

Day 6 Catch the sunrise over the Meili Snow Mountain, then drive 250 kms to Daocheng, passing by Big and Small Snow Mt., the Tibetan towns called Deqin, Derong and Xiangcheng, with beautiful stops for Tibetan villages, animals on the beautiful plains. O/N Daocheng, attitude at 3700 meters

Day 7 Explore Daocheng and surroundings. Catch the morning mist over Sela, and sunset over Daocheng River. Visit Haizi Mountain, where has a thousand lakes at different level, up to Xingyicuo Lake, at 4420 meters above sea level. Visit Gonggalanjiling Lamasery. Rubuchaka Hotspring if you like, altitude at 3747 meters. O/N Daocheng

Day 8 Drive 3 hrs to Yading, get best view of Echu Mt. on the way, and visit Luorong Yak Plain, the antient Chonggu Lamasery, Five Colors Sea, and Sanshen Holy Mountains. O/N Yading, attitude at 3800 meters

Day 9 From Luorong Yak Plain, hike or take horse up to Milk Lake and Pearl Lake. Then drive 3 hrs back to Daocheng. O/N Daocheng
 
Day 10 Drive from Daocheng to Xindu Bridge, which is considered to be the heaven for photographers. Along the way, stop to visit the beautiful Sandui Village, Litang (the highest town in the world), and visit the biggest Lamasery in the area, called Changchunkeer Lamasery. The main scenery today also includes vast plain of the high land. O/N Xindu Bridge, attitude at 3300 meters

Day 11 Drive from Xindu to Ganzi county town, then Seda, about 6.5 hrs drive. O/N Seda, attitude at 3800 meters

Day 12 Visit the Wuming Buddhism College, and Tibetan Sky Burial, then drive to Danba, passing Maerkang, Jinchuan, about 8 hrs drive. O/N Danba, attitude at 1900 meters

Day 13 Visit Jiaju Tibetan Village in Danba Valley, then drive 145 kms to Rilong. Hike or take horse ride along stream in the premitive Forest in Rilong, with the view of the Four Girls Mountains in the distance. And visit the ethnique Qiang and Tibetan villages. O/N Rilong, attitude at 3200 meters.

Day 14 Drive 230 kms from rilong to Chengdu, passing by Four Girls Mountain, Wolong, Yinxiu, Dujiangyan Dam, andd arrive in Chengdu, about 4 hrs drive. O/N Chengdu
