The tunnels of Cu Chi are an immense network of connecting tunnels which were the location of several military campaigns during the Vietnam War, and were the Viet Cong’s base of operations for the Tết Offensive in 1968. Apart from crawling into the tunnels and experience what it’s like living underground, you will have the chance to see the authentic local life along the way. ​Not only is a famous military project of Vietnam and the world, a national level historical site, Cu Chi Tunnels is also an attractive destination for tourists.

Cu Chi Tunnels no doubt belong to the top 7 exotic tourist destinations in Southeast Asia and are among 6 artificial works of the world. Cu Chi is located on the outskirts of Saigon. These tunnels are about 200 km length, built during the war against the US. Cu Chi is currently used as a war museum. Every day, Cu Chi welcomes a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to visit and explore. The tunnels are a remnant of the country’s war against the United States and the allies, become one of the most popular travel destinations in the South of Vietnam.

There are two existing destinations in Cu Chi Tunnels: Ben Duoc or Ben Dinh, each destination has its own nature of beauty. In both destination of Cu Chi you would have a chance to experience history in a unique way because one of the special thing about Cu Chi land is the nature people maintain in this land. Ben Dinh was made for visitors which is closer to Saigon. However, Ben Duoc is 20 minutes further from the city, but more authentic and peaceful. My private tour would like to bring you to Ben Duoc to avoid the crowd and the hot from the sun.

My private tour guide would start the tour by picking you up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh city. Outside your hotel, my experienced driver would be available to start the tour anytime. From Ho Chi Minh city to Cu Chi tunnels, it takes one hour and thirty minutes to chill out in my convenient car. On the way to Cu Chi province, you will have a chance to see many parts of Ho Chi Minh. Not to worry because I will introduce all highlight sights along the journey.

Construction of the tunnels began in the late 1940s during the First Indochina War with France. When the US military entered the picture to support South Vietnam, communist forces began expanding the network. This place has a unique system of tunnels in the earth, nearly 250km long, is a battle of transformation and creation of the people of Cu Chi district during the war against the US.

Before entering the tunnels, I will buy the entrance ticket at the front gate to have symbol sticker on your shirt. In Cu Chi tunnels, you will be able to visit the tunnels including clinics, rooms, kitchens, warehouses, working rooms, underground road systems. Before the tour, we will meet the real soldier wearing green uniform that would guide us along the way. After meeting and greeting, he will show us a short documentary footage of the evolution of the war in Cu Chi Tunnels as well as the introduction of history and tunnel systems. After a video, you will understand briefly the war and I will show various mantraps and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers.​

I will walk you straight to the tunnels and start to discover the system in Cu Chi. In the low and dark Cu Chi tunnels, there are sections where you have to bend over even cows and crawl in a dark, narrow space, causing many people to have a little fear but excitement. Worth to have a try. Here, every corner, each interconnected road like spider web connected with meeting rooms, war invalids, storage cellars, weapons manufacturing, dormitory rooms, teaching rooms ... Similarly, at Ben Dinh Tunnels is the command base of Cu Chi Party Committee. In this place, you will visit the system of tunnels, accommodation, activities, meetings, weapons manufacturing tunnels, self-created weapons showrooms.

One of the most popular activity in Cu Chi Tunnels that all of my international friends definitely enjoy is the Trial of marksmanship, "plays" soldiers fighting in the forest!! A real gun!! 

When participating, you will become soldiers fighting in the natural forest, fully equipped with masks, uniforms, armor and weapons are AR15 or AK47 guns. In addition, you can also try marksmanship when participating in shooting beer according to military standards (fixed beer, mobile beer or hidden beer). Cu Chi Tunnels are not only popular in robber trees but also famous for its rice paper. Going to the small cottage near by the shooting range, you would have a chance to see how people make the best rice paper, very simple so you can try to make one for your own. 

At the end of the tour, I will walk you to visit the souvenir area to select war souvenir items made from cartons like oil lamps, lighters, ball pens, straps or bearded sandals. Made from old tires and high quality lacquer, handicrafts, rattan and bamboo, leaves typical of the craft village in Cu Chi.

There s a shooting range for you to try out guns from Ak47, M16, gun machine, carbine. 
Try crawling like a guerrilla fighters 20m of the tunnels.
