Lantern Festival falls on the last day of Chinese New Year. Base on the Chinese Lunar Calendar, the 15th is the first night that people can see a full moon. We named it as YuanXiao Festival. According to the Chinese traditional , full moon is a symbol of family reunion and things work out with a happy ending. When there's a beautiful full moon hanging in the sky, lots of people will come out for making wishes and enjoy the full moon view. In the ancient time while people suing lantern for a portable lighting device. There would be thousands of lanterns with different shapes in the street and made a spectacular view for the night. Eventually , it turned into a huge lantern exhibitions and one of the must things to see for Chinese on these days. Hence the reason, Yuan Xiao Festival is also called Lantern Festival. On this day, we will eat Yuanxiao, which is a kind of glutinous sweet rice ball. After eating Yuanxiao, we will go out with family or friends to celebrate Lantern Festival and enjoy those colorful lanterns with beautiful shape. In my Hometown Liuzhou, there's a big Lantern celebration every year. The people from all the factories or company will make their own lantern and show it to their people in Liuzhou. What's more interesting, there's lots of schools joined in the lantern exhibition, you can see some of the cute lanterns make by students. Some of the students are only 5-8 years old. It's a very interesting thing to do if you are in Liuzhou during the Festival.

Cheng Yang Bridge, built in 1916, the bridge is 76 meters long, 3.7 meters wide, wood and stone structure, with five stone piers capped with wood. benches on both sides for a rest.
Cheng Yang Bridge not only shows national characteristics in shape, but also an original in structure. The whole bridge between tenon joints with wood chisel, cut through straight sets, criss-cross.
Dong people like playing a special kind of flute named Lushen, which made of bamboo,some of them are very big, some of them are very small,they always play this flute and dance on the squre with Drum Tower.

For the Purpose of welcoming Chinese New Year, setting up the fireworks and firecrackers is a traditional celebration that most of the Chinese will take part it. Normally in Chinese New Year Eve, almost every family will preparing some firecrackers and counting down the minutes and seconds of the New Year and then set them up in front of their house. With the noise of the firecrackers, we believe it will drive the bad spirits away and wake up the sleeping dragon which is supposed to bring good luck and wealth to its people. Nobody will be sleeping before 12:00am on the first day of the Chinese New Year due to this traditional celebration of the firecrackers. I don't know weather we should call it noise pollution or the atmosphere of the Chinese New Year. Every year at this time, Ios of people complain about the noise but they definitely think the New Year wouldn't be completed without it. In my hometown Liuzhou, there's even a big fireworks celebration in the first evening in Chinese New Year. We can have an eye feast of the fireworks by the river and it lasts about half an hour. The local government spends a few millions ren min bi on that and almost every people in the city will come out that night for watching this beautiful scene and celebrate the New Year together. Here's some of the photo me and my friend took during the new year firework celebration in my hometown. Day 1, Starting from Guilin to Sanjiang ChengYang Shelter Bridge by driving 2 hours. Stay in Sanjiang.
Day 2,We will go to the largest Zhao xing Dong minority's village by driving 1.5hours to see the original Dong village.Stay in Zhaoxing village.
Day 3,After enjoying more time in the morning in the village than back Guilin.

Day2, The ethnic Zhuang minority’s group village wonderful Rice Terraces is great wonder to visit,World famous Kong fu star Jackie Chen came here for his movie “Skip Trace” in 2016. We will drive 2hours from Guilin to the quiet village and hiking around to take some nice photos.(Hotel in Ping’an)
Day3, One of famous wood bridge “Chengyang wind and rain shelter bridge” already stayed in the Dong ethnic minority’s village for 100 years.That’s the only way local people going in and out . There lot of photographers and architects come there for visiting every year. They want to find the answer “why the whole bridge no any steel and snail?”You can taste the local black tea,then we will drive 4hours to Huang Yao ancient town 黄姚古镇。(Hotel in Huang Yao ancient town)
Day4, 1000 years old town Huang Yao like a poem in history, like a classical quiet countryside photo at the sunset moment . The green brisk house,little stone bridge,stream.... can not hold and walk around this lovely town. You can eat the local food “team fermented beam with spear rib”. We will drive about 4 hours to the Famous tea Liubao hometown.( Hotel in Liubao town)
Day5, visiting and experiencing local tea culture:See the large tea plantation,picking and making tea, making a cup of tea with local tea farmers and enjoy the tea. Back to Guilin....(photos by Chie)
