These Roman ruins, in fact ruins of roman pillars are located right in fron to the Basilica of San Lorenzo. These pillars date back to the 2nd century AD and pertained to Roman temple. They were somehow moved from their previous location durinf the 4th century.

The pillars are built in marble and there are seventeen pillars altogether. Numerous visitors who visit the famous Basilica stand and take pictures in front of the Roman pillars.

Knowing how old is the basilica, these pillars take you even more in the past.

The Milan cathedral is one of most recognizable landmarks of Italy and Milan, of course. Just by looking at the picture one can notice its greateness and outstanding decoration work. Even today, this cathedral has the highest number of statues in the world. There are 3159 statues and he most recognizable is surely the statue of Madonnina located on the top of the front facade. This statue is built in copper but it was lately covered with numerous gold leafs.

The interior of the cathedral is no less impressive. It is spacious church with five naves and divided by 52 pillars. Even inside one can notice many works of art by world famous artists.

Visitors are even allowed to for to the cathedral´s roof and take a look from what was once the highest point in the city.

The Madonna di San Luca is a basilica church atop of the Monte della Guardia (Della Guardia hill). It's the sanctuary of the city so the locals have a special relation with it; since the past many pilgrims use to climb the hill to venerate an icon of the Holy Virgin with the baby (San Luca). Nowdays the site is lived by local who are climbing the hill for fitness or for devotion

The Sanctuary of the Madonna of San Luca is basilica church, sited atop a forested hill, Colle or Monte della Guardia, some 300 metres above the city plain. It a very important attraction since long time ago as pilgrims use to climb the hill to venerate the icon of the Holy Virgin with the baby (San Luca). the complex is reachable from Saragozza Gate through a long arcades path.

The Chiusa di Casalecchio is the old dam of Bologna. It was build in the XII century by the local people to regulate the flood of the main river of Bologna, the river Reno, and to create an artificial canal connected to the old center Bologna which the water was use for proto-industrial purposes.
