Escape to Lantau

Lantau Island is the largest island of Hong Kong, yet it has a fairly small population. The only major town is Tung Chung, otherwise there are small villages scattered all over the place.

This 9-hour tour will take you to see the main sights of Lantau Island, which include:
- Ngong Ping, with the famous Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery amongst its major sights.
- Tai O, an authentic fishing village that is famous for its stilt houses and dried seafood. It is home to some ancient temples, and the Chinese Pink Dolphin is commonly seen in the nearby waters.
- Mui Wo, an old settlement that used to be a major transport hub for all traffic in and out of Lantau. Sights here include the Silvermine Cave, the Silvermine Waterfall, the Man Mo Temple, and the Silvermine
Beach.

From Mui Wo we take a ferry back to Central, a scenic tour passing by Peng Chau island and part of Victoria Harbour.

Price includes guide fee.

Shuen Wan Country Park

Shuen Wan country park in the north-east of Hong Kong is characterised by low, flowing hills and the seas of Double Haven with its many islands.

From Fanling MTR station we take taxi to the small village of Luk Keng, the starting point of this relatively easy, 15 km long hike.

We walk first through farmland, then through woodland to the old Hakka village of Lai Chi Wo (map marker 1). After exploring the village we continue along the shores of Double Haven to Sam A Chung for lunch (map marker 2). Then we follow the footpath to Wu Kau Tang, and end up at the famous Bride's Pool area where we can admire two of Hong Kong's best waterfalls, the Bride's Pool fall and the Mirror Pool fall, and of course the Mirror Pool itself.

From there we take a taxi or bus to Tai Po Market MTR station.

This tour is available in weekends only, as then the restaurants are open.

Price includes guide fee.

Add about HKD 300 for taxi fares and about HKD 100-150 per person for lunch.
