The Ya Dan National Geological Park---- 'Ya Dan" is Uygur language,which means precipitous statues. The Ya Dan Geological Park is away from city about 185 km. Local government is applying this as the Ya Dan  World Geological Park.Over thousands of years ago it is a big sea over there. Because of earth crust movement the ground rose up and the water in the sea flew away.Then some mud piles appeared as the bottom rose up.After many years the hard earth sculpture came into being,which look so beautiful.The sculptures  look like the Heavenly Altar,Sphinx of Egypt,Mushroom Cloud, peacock ,many fleets, Middle aged Castle, and so on. It is also a very good place to take photos and make movies. Many famous movies were shot here.

The echoing sanddune and crescent spring---It is a beautiful 5A natural scenery area. The sanddune and the spring stay together for thousands of years,which is in the south of Dunhuang city 6 km.Local would like to compare them as a deep lovely couple. The sandune is east streching edge of the Kumutag desert, which is the sixth largest desert in China. The crescent spring has never been dry and buried by the sands. Many legendary stories have been come down about them.In ancient time it was also the very important station along the silk road since all of Mogao caves were built in the east cliff of the sanddune.

The Mogao Grottos---It is in the southeast of Dunhuang city 25 km.In 1987 it was listed as the world cultural heritage by UNESCO.The first grotto was built 366 AD.Up to now 735 caves still exsit,which is 1700 meters along the cliff from north to south.The murals cover an area of 45,000 square meters, so it got a reputation name, the mural gallery.Among all of grottos along the ancient silk road , it has the longest history over 16oo years ,and it can be best preserved.Especially when the hidden library cave(No.17) was dicovered in 1900. Meanwhile about 50,000 pieces of relics were found ,more and more people get to know this area and it is becoming more famous .

The great wall of Han Dynasty---It is bulit in west Han dynasty during 2 century BC. At that time it is used to defend the strong cavalry from Huns, the strong minority from north. The construction is quite different from other parts of great wall. It is made of one layer of sandstone and one layer of straw and tamarisk, which is quite different from other great walls.The great wall of Han dynasty stretches around 1800km,which connected with the great wall of Qin dynasty in the north of Lannzhou.

 Yu Men Pass, Yu means Jade, and Men means gate. It is also called Jade Gate Pass ,which is located in the northwest of dunhuang 100km . It is the north customs of the silk road over 2000 years. A lot of beautiful jades from west regions were transported to China through this gate, so it got the name Jade Gate Pass. Many relics were found here,such as the woodslips of ancient passport,coins,silk ,arrow heads and so on. In 2014 it was included into the world heritage by UNESO.

The Yu Lin Grottos---It is located in the south of Gua Zhou city 85 km ,which is called Ten Thousand Buddhas’ Canyon by local people. It is listed by the state council of China in 1961 as the Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National level. There are totally 43 grottos in the east cliff and west cliff. The murals inside the grottos cover an area 5650 square meters. The number of  sculptures inside the grottos reaches to 272. The grottos were built during  at least 6 century to 20 century. Because of beautiful sculptures and murals, the Yulin Grottos was call the sister grottos of Mogao Grottos.

The ancient SuoYang Castle is located 68 km southeast of Guazhou county, Gansu province，which is far away from dunhuang 180 km. It was listed as one of the fourth batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council in 1996 . In 2014 it was included into the world heritage list  by UNESCO. At beginning SuoYang Castle was built in the Han dynasty around 2000 years ago, and it was rebuilt in Tang dynasty around 7 century. Until to the 11th century, the caste was abandoned.

The castle consists two parts : outer city and inner city. The outer city covers 800,000 square meters,and the inner city covers 280,000 square meters. The most intact military defense system,agricultural irrigation and water conservancy system in ancient China were preserved in this caste ruins, which fully embodies the defensive characteristics of frontier cities in hexi corridor along the ancient silk road and reflect Suoyang castle played an important role to guarantee the traffic security for the long transportation of the silk road. In the castle area, the ruins of old town site, Buddhist temples, ancient canal system, tombs and other relics of ancient land reclamation area can be still found clearly as well.

built from  366 to 1371,Mogao Grottoes get another name as thousands buddist scultures cave.it is the largest scale & the richest content among anyother buddist relics.now there are 4500 square meters colorful painting ,2415 sculture exiting in 75 caves.for its unique histories background ,in 1987 it isIncluded in the World Heritage List.
