Duolun Street is carefully decorated street, with a lot of colourful and beautiful flowers in the street and square. It has old and simple pavement and buildings with classical architectures. It is the place where a lot of China's modern literature writers like Lu Xun, Mao Dun, Guo Moruo, and Ye Shengtao lived. 

The Giant Sleeping Buddha Temple is located southwest of Zhangye downtown. It covers an area of about 23,000 square meters, sitting in the east and facing to the west. Until now the existing building in the temple are mainly the giant Buddha temple ,sutra pavilion, clay pagoda,which are all on the axis of the temple.

When you get there,you will see the largest  indoor reclining Buddha sculpture in China.The reclining Buddha was made in West Xia Dynasty about 11 century AD,which is 34.5 meters long.The Buddha's shoulder is 7.5 meters wide. Its ear is 4 meters long,and its feet are 5.2 meters.Behind the reclining Buddha palace there are  hidden Buddhism sutra pavilion and a clay pagoda.

It is an important scenic spot and historic site on the silk road and a landmark building of the famous historical and cultural Zhangye city as well .In 1996, it was listed as one of  national key cultural relics protection units in the fourth batch.

 Pingshanhu grand canyon is about 60 kilometers away from downtown of Zhangye city. It covers an area of 1040 square km. So far, it is a compound scenic spot in China, which is the closest to the city and integrates natural wonders, canyon exploration, geological survey, ethnic customs, cross-country hiking and so on. It can be comparable to Zhangjiajie and Colorado grand canyon,which has been praised by China geographic magazine and famous geological experts and tourists at home and abroad.

The composition of this lanform in the canyon is red bed landform, which came into being 108,000,000 to 240,000,000 years ago.The canyon is characterized by different gullies. The hills look low and gentle. The tonal is mainly with red white and ochre red .The color of the hills shows a bit drab. Most of them are conical or columnar in shape. It is a good place to take photo and hike at the bottom of the canyon. We have two options here which depends on your interest and body quality.

It is located in the west of Zhangye city 60 km. The total area is 300 squarekm,and the core area for visiting is 120 square km. The sea level here is around 1500-2550m. It is the most typical danxia landform in arid areas of China, and also one of the most complete and peculiar danxia landform in China

Binggou danxia landform was rated as the "number 1 of window lattice palatial danxia landform in China's ". The scenic area is widely distributed with the danxia cliff, stone walls, stone columns, peaks, hills and other landform forms. The peak is steep and straight, continuous with magnificent momentum.This area is famous for particular natural statues besides nice colors. Even you can find the epitomes of Louvre,palaces,Buddha shrines and camels,etc.

Binggou danxia is famous for its grand ,precipitous ,magical sceneries ,and is reputated as "the first wonder in the world". It has been rated as one of the "7 most beautiful danxia landforms in China" and one of the "10 most amazing geographical wonders in the world" by China geographic magazine and the national geographic magazine of the United States.

The ancient SuoYang Castle is located 68 km southeast of Guazhou county, Gansu province，which is far away from dunhuang 180 km. It was listed as one of the fourth batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council in 1996 . In 2014 it was included into the world heritage list  by UNESCO. At beginning SuoYang Castle was built in the Han dynasty around 2000 years ago, and it was rebuilt in Tang dynasty around 7 century. Until to the 11th century, the caste was abandoned.

The castle consists two parts : outer city and inner city. The outer city covers 800,000 square meters,and the inner city covers 280,000 square meters. The most intact military defense system,agricultural irrigation and water conservancy system in ancient China were preserved in this caste ruins, which fully embodies the defensive characteristics of frontier cities in hexi corridor along the ancient silk road and reflect Suoyang castle played an important role to guarantee the traffic security for the long transportation of the silk road. In the castle area, the ruins of old town site, Buddhist temples, ancient canal system, tombs and other relics of ancient land reclamation area can be still found clearly as well.

The Ta’er monastery was founded in 1377 during the Ming dynasty. Ta means pagoda.  It got the name after the silver pagoda was built in memory of Zongkaba, the founder of the yellow sect of Tibetan Buddhism. The silver pagoda is called "gunbenxian balin" in Tibetan, which means "maitreya temple with a hundred thousand lions roaring Buddha statues". The monastery is located in lushaer town, huangzhong county, 25 kilometers southwest of Xining city,Qinghai province. It’s rated as AAAAA tourists attraction.

It is the center of Tibetan Buddhism in northwest China and enjoys a good reputation in China and southeast Asia. In the Ming dynasty, the upper religious figures in the monastery were granted titles for many times. A famous plaque was awarded by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing dynasty .Emperor Qianlong awarded the monastery with the title of "Fanzong monastery", and a nice plaque was awarded to the dajinwa hall. The third dalai lama, the fourth dalai lama, the fifth dalai lama, the seventh dalai lama, the 13th dalai lama, the 14th dalai lama, the sixth panchen lama, the ninth panchen lama and the tenth panchen lama all conducted religious activities in the monastery.

Butter sculpture flowers, frescoes and barbola are known as the "three art masterpieces of the Ta’er monastery". In addition, many Buddhist classics and academic monographs on history, literature, philosophy, medicine and legislation are also kept in the monastery. The "four dharma meetings", a Buddhist event held every year, are even more lively.

Ta’er monastery is one of the six major monasteries of yellow sect of Tibetan Buddhism in China. It is also a leading scenic spot and historical site in Qinghai province and a national key cultural relic protection unit. On April 13, 2018, it was shortlisted in "amazing 100 sceneries in northwest of China".

   Chaka salt lake is a natural crystallized salt lake over 3000 years, located in chaka town, wulan county, haixi Mongol and Tibetan autonomous prefecture, Qinghai province. It is one of the four major salt lakes in the Qaidam basin."Chaka" is a Tibetan word meaning salt pool, which is also the salt of blue sea.

   The feature of climate  around chaka salt lake is warm , cool, arid with little rain. It belongs to the plateau continental climate ,with an annual average temperature of 4 degree and an annual average rainfall  of 210.4 mm. The salt lake looks like an oval in shape and covers an area of 105 square kilometers.It is 3,100 meters above sea level, 15.8 kilometers long and 9.2 kilometers wide.

   Chaka salt lake is as famous as Ta'er monastery and Qinghai lake. It is reputated as the mirror of sky by tourists, which is a particular site for photographing. It was rated as one of  "55 places of must going in the lifetime" by national travel geography magazine.

  The Sun and Moon mountain is located 40 kilometers southwest of huangyuan county, Qinghai province, and east of qinghai lake. It is a branch of Qilian mountain ,which runs from northwest to southeast. It is 90 kilometers long and 10-15 kilometers wide, with an average elevation of about 4000 meters.The highest sea level is 4877m.

  In the history the Sun and Moon mountain  area is an important path of south branch of silk road.which passed by the Sun and Moon mountain,Qinghai lake ,Qaidam bason to west regions.In Tang dynasty this area became into one popular road to Tibet. The sun and moon mountain was once a witness to many historical events, such as the meeting of the alliance, peace, war, "tea , salt and horse trade" and so on.

  The sun and moon mountain is not only of great historical significance, but also of great geographical significance . It is located on the boundary between China's monsoon region and non-monsoon region, and on the overlapping area between the loess plateau and the qinghai-tibet plateau. It is also the natural boundary between the inner and outer basins of Qinghai province, dividing the farming civilization and the nomadic civilization .  

  Dan Geer ancient city is located in the huangyuan county in qinghai province and  in the north shore of the Yellow River, the west sea.It is away from xining city 40 km, well compared as the throat of Qinghai and  Tibet . Dan Geer  means white conch in Tibet language. The Dan Geer city used to be reputated as the trading capital and  little beijing,where the loess plateau and Qinghai-tibet plateau combined , farming culture and the grassland culture  intersected , Tang Fan road and south silk road went through and  many people gathered .

  Dan Geer Ancient city was built in Ming dynasty around 14 century.It was enlarged in  the qing dynasty .Now it covers an area of 250,000 square meters, has a history of over 600 years ago, and is an ancient historical and cultural city. In the city many old constructions still exist,such as  interweaved streets and alleys, the residential courtyards with unique structure, magnificent temples and monasteries, intact family firms ,different styles of HuangYuan lamp, and so on , which carries strong multicultural information, reflects the rich local national characteristics and the strange vision of farming and animal husbandry cultures intersection fusion.

Qinghai Lake is located at west of Xining city 160 km. In Mongolian language ""Qinghai hu" means blue sea. It is the largest salty lake and inland lake of China. It covers an area of 4583 square km. The average depth of it is 18.6m now.The sea level of the lake is 3196 m. It is about 360km to walk around it. Every year a special riding bycycle race is held around Qinghai lake. It is said in the legend that the Empress Wangmu of western heaven once came here and visited it. It is such a beautiful  and legendary place.
