My wife and I decided to hire an English-speaking tour guide for our trip to Zhangjiajie and decided to use Jeffrey Tang based on the solid reviews he had. Jeffrey did a great job in making all the necessary arrangements for us including providing a driver for us, booking hotels, and buying all the tickets we would need for entering the parks, riding cable cars, buses, escalators, etc. and for seeing the wonderful show tickets.in Zhangjjiajie. Our driver was terrific. She met us at the airport and stayed with us the whole time we were in the ZJJ area, drove us to Fenghuang and back and drove us to the bus station for our ride back to Changsha where we were met by a different driver. Jeffrey was not able to be our tour guide because of other obligations but provided us with another tour guide named Jay. Jay was young, very friendly, spoke great English and was an outstanding guide. We are very happy that we chose Jeffrey as our guide and can recommend him without hesitation. My group of just 4 people booked a private tour with Jeffrey Tang for 10 days which took us from Changsha, Fenghuang, Zhangjiajie and back to Changsha. The service rendered by Jeffrey was top notch & these were what matter to us: 1. Upon arrival at Changsha airport, he had the China Unicom data sim card ready for our smartphones which restored our connection to the rest of the world. 2. Jeffrey recommended us restaurants with good & delicious food throughout the journey. 3. As we were keen on photography, he took us to scenic spots away from most tourist so that we could spend time capturing the key moments of our trip. That made it worthwhile & a well spend trip for us. He planned & accommodated us on the timing nicely. 4. On days that were raining, he swap places for us to visit so as to minimise the inconveniences cause by the rain & thick fog which can really ruin the scene. 5. The choice of hotel accommodations provided were good. 6. Overall we have no hessitation to recommend our friends who were keen on a similar tour to go with Jeffrey. Our curiosity about the acronym “zjj” on a website let us to finding a 6-day tour of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Fenghuang Ancient Town with an experienced guide, Jeffrey Tang Ming. Jeffrey was knowledgeable, flexible and accommodating. It rained the first day! He rearranged our itinerary to optimize our enjoyment of touring the Yellow Dragon Cave first. It was quite an extraordinary introduction to our Zhangjiajie Tour. We thank Jeffrey for being so helpful and vigilant of our needs. He assisted us with our photographic snapshots. Being an experienced guide and a local resident of Zhangjiajie, Jeffrey was very familiar with the vicinity and park surrounding. He specifically chose a beautiful red maple for a background to delight us of home in Canada. It seems he has an eye for details, always on the look out for a unique scenic spot, a tranquil setting, a historical landmark or a terraced landscape to highlight an aesthetic touch to our pictures. Jeffrey was also very thorough and efficient with the logistics of our tour. We were impressed with his prompt and informative response to our initial enquiries and itinerary planning. On our arrival, he and Ms. Sun (driver) welcomed us and drove us for an hour around midnight from the airport to Wulingyuan for our night's accommodation. We were really pleased that our room has a balcony with river and mountain views. We appreciate the less spicy menu that Jeffrey arranged for our meals along with a few special Hunan dishes for our enjoyment. With his assistance, we had excellent seats booked for the fabulous “Tianman Fox Fairy” show“- a touching, mythical folktale staged against a spectacular backdrop of high mountains and deep valleys. My family, my friends and I (in total 14 ppl) made a 2 days trip in Zhangjiajie last month in April. Jeff welcomed us at the airport late in the evening and brought us to our hotel.

The second day was planned as a "free day" without any services provided by the agency. We planned to go by ourselves to the Tianmen mountain. Jeff gently offered his help to buy the tickets early in the morning (for free, even if it was no organized by the agency) for the day after and joined us until we arrived at the cable car. 

The next day, he accompagnied us for a visit in the Wulingyuan mountains. Because our group has "fast" and "slow" walkers, he stayed patiently with the slower walkers and accompanied them, let them walk in easy paths but still showing them the best they could see.

Jeff is serious (in a good way of course), very kind, and speaks English very well. He knows a lot about the local culture and likes to share it, we appreciated that. He also took some pictures of the group and sent them to us so we can have some memories of the "trek".

We will definitely ask for his services next time we go there to discover more Zhangjiajie and the places around.

We spent two day with Jeffrey in March of 2016.  He was very flexible with his day and planning. He not only accommodated our needs, but he made great suggestions that suited our touring style.  He was very willing to walk with us along paths in Zhangjiajie that were long, and almost entirely unfrequented by other tourists.  He has a lot of local knowledge and is very curious, so he keeps learning new things all the time, it seems.  He helped with finding food and beverages and translated when needed.  He was very helpful with the bus system there, as well.  I highly recommend this very nice and easy-going guy!  Thanks Jeffrey for helping make our trip awesome!

Five beautiful days in Zhangjiajie with a private guide
 
our family visited Zhangjiajie in October 2015. This was one of the highlights of our almost 4 weeks China trip. Mountainscape was just spectacular!

Jeffrey Tang booked our hotels, arranged transportation and most important took us to places less visited.

If you want to make most of your time there you need a guide.

Jeffrey was very professional, punctual and very pleasant as a person. We can highly recommend him.
