I booked a 2 day tour with Joy and it was a wonderful experience. she always replied promptly to emails and arranged a really good mixture of activities. she was also extremely helpful doing things for us above and beyond the call of duty such as helping me to buy a chinese SIM card (not as easy as you think!) and recovering a lost piece of clothing from another hotel 5km away! We visited Zhoujiajiao first...Joy was excellent here, knowing all the places to go and helping us take some amazing pictures!. in the evening she arranged for us to do the evening tour on the river...a truly memorable experience. The following day we visited the French Concession and Tian ze Fang. But it was little things like Joy took us into the food court of a shopping mall to find some genuine Shanghai dumplings, or buying street food for us to try that made the whole trip special.

Don't worry about reading about the other guides...just book Joy. You will not be diappointed

I spent the past Saturday with Joy and she was wonderful. She really had a great knowledge of the history and architecture of the city. She was also a great help at negotiations when shopping. I plan on hiring her again when time permits. I highly recommend you give her a try. She is a little bundle of energy and a great guide.

I am from India. Recently back from China. Trip was really wonderful.
In fact, this was my first trip to China.. and I was going alone. My duration of stay there was for almost 10 days. Initially I was a little scared.. going alone… Language problem, and most important – I am a careless and stupid person etc.etc. But I can say, I was lucky enough as I found Joy there. In fact, before going to China, I done extensive search for a local tour guide. Finally, I decided and finalised "Joy", it was my right decision. She is really nice and friendly.
My visit plan was to meet suppliers in different cities in China, this was a biggest problem for me. But, finally, I can say, it was Joy who made my travel and meetings smooth.
She is really nice and excellent in all respects. Using GPS for finding location, fixing appointment with suppliers for meetings, a suitable hotel, considering my food choice, air ticket booking, everything was excellent. She is my friend, philosopher and Guide in China.
 

Simply I can say, she is more than a 100% perfect person as a guide, a friend, a shopping assistant. I never realized that I am not in my country.
 

I have no other choice then “Joy” for my future visit to China.

I have just returned from a trip to Shanghai and was impressed with the tour guide and shopping assistance service provided by Joy.

Initially, I was still considering whether to explore Shanghai on my own or to engage a tour guide and shopping assistance. In the end, I opted for Joy to be my guide and that proved to be a wise decision. Not only was Joy resourceful in bringing me to the different places for my shopping trip and sometimes odd purchases, she also helped to bargain for a good price for me. In addition, Joy was also very patient with my ever-changing itinerary and even gave me many recommendations. In terms of per day/hour fees, Joy was not calculative, but I couldn’t bear to short change her and hence made my own calculations.

Overall, I don’t feel that I have a third party tour guide with me, but instead, have a friend from Shanghai showing me around.

We have just returned from a week long trip to Shanghai which was made so very easier by our wonderful guide Joy. From our very first meeting my wife and l formed a great relationship with Joy. She is so very friendly and her knowledge of her city is amazing. Joy worked around our requests for places to visit and threw in a few local gems that made our Shanghai holiday so fantastic. Following a review from a previous client, we visited Joys tailor contact and had some clothes made up in next to no time at a terrific price. There can be no better recommendation of Joy than to say the next time we visit Shanghai, Joy will be our first contact for a guide service. We would also happily recommend Joy to family and friends if they are off to Shanghai.

Needless to say if you are visiting Shanghai and looking for a terrific guide, you will be hard pressed to find better than Joy.

Greetings….If you’re currently considering a tour guide that knows every nook and cranny of Shanghai… I would highly recommend that you select Joy as your tour guide. Before the trip our main criteria for selecting a tour guide was that they have to be local, as we felt a local would have a more intimate knowledge of the city.…. Result:  Joy didn’t just meet our expectations….but she exceeded them!….Apart from taking us to all the obvious famous main land marks…..Joy also took us along a journey through Shanghai’s back streets and hidden gems….Food wise, I don’t think we had a bad meal during our trip….As our group (total: 8 of us) all regard food as very important…Joy obliged by bringing us to some amazing local authentic Shanghainese restaurants ( As we were desperate to try some local Shanghainese food)…Joy not only knows where all the  good Shanghainese cuisine but also knew where all the best Northern or Southern Chinese Restaurants are in Shanghai…Importantly, apart from the food being delicious it was also very reasonably priced….Our group interestingly enough  all had northern Chinese backgrounds ( 5 of us from DongBei, 2 from Beijing and 1 from Inner Mongolia). Knowing this Joy made an effort to cater to all our needs by taking us to some authentic Northern Chinese restaurants...There was one DongBei restaurant in particular that I will never forget….The food was absolutely mouthwatering….Definitely worth the 45 minutes we had to wait to get a table….One night we all wanted to eat Peking duck…and I must say it was one of the better Ducks I’ve had, surprisingly authentic ….Comparable if not better than all the ducks I’ve eaten in Beijing.

Besides Joy’s impressive knowledge of Shanghai she was also a pleasure to travel with….Joy was very easy going…had a good sense of humor, and even taught us some Shanghainese….We returned the favor by teaching her some Beijinghua, and Dongbei Hua…..It was very much a rich cultural exchange…I was also surprised at Joy’s proficiency in DongBei Hua…As it turns out she has some  Dongbei friends in Shanghai, and also has a keen interest in DongBei Hua..Overall we all had a very good time…In future if we do go back to Shanghai, we will definitely be looking for Joy again.
