About Me

Welcome! I'm Muluken Girma, your local guide in beautiful Addis Ababa.

For nearly two decades, I've shared Ethiopia's fascinating destinations as a tour operator and guide, and I'm eager to share my expertise with you.

Whether you're seeking a personalized individual tour, a group adventure, or reliable car rentals, I can curate an exceptional experience in Addis Ababa and throughout Ethiopia.

My journey to tourism wasn't traditional. Initially, I pursued Accounting at Mekelle University, earning my diploma in 2001.

However, my real passion was elsewhere. I transitioned to Tourism, graduating with 'Distinctions' in Tour Operation Management from the Catering and Tourism Training Institute in 2004.

For five years, I honed my skills at two prominent Addis Ababa tour companies. Since 2009, I've thrived as a freelance guide, delivering insightful English tours. Guiding isn't just a job for me; it's a passion and a way of life.

Why choose me for your Addis Ababa tour? Firstly, I'm an Addis Ababa native, possessing an intimate understanding of the city. Secondly, my tourism education equips me to anticipate and exceed your expectations. Finally, my extensive experience with international tourists allows me to craft tours that resonate deeply.

I'm committed to designing a personalized Addis Ababa tour that aligns with your unique travel preferences. My popular offerings include full-day city tours and enriching day trips around Addis Ababa.

Let's connect and create your most memorable Ethiopian tours and experiences!

We much appreciated our day trip with Muluken to discover some of the history of Ethiopia. The church cut out of the rock was quite extraordinary! And the walk in the market plus the visit to the villager's home gave us a real sense of what it's like to live in an Ethiopian village. I suspect Muluken knew more than the local guide at the site of the stela at Tiya, or maybe her command of English was not as good as his If Ethiopia is serious about developing tourism then the roads need to be improved and some provision made for natural breaks. I just finished a great 7-day trip with Muluken Girma through northern Ethiopia, in mid October 2017. We traveled to: Bahir Dar, Gondar, Simien Mountains NP, Axum, Lalibela and Addis Ababa. Ethiopia is an amazingly beautiful place; the people are the friendliest you will find. Make the trip and you will not be disappointed. I will refrain from making this a review of Ethiopia its cities/sites, and focus on a review of Muluken as my guide on this trip. I don’t think my trip and time with Muluken could have gone any smoother. All of our communication prior to the trip was detailed and timely. All transportation was safe, comfortable and clean. The drivers Muluken hired for us were all friendly to travel with and talk to, some of these drivers we send multiple days with. This also included a boat in Bahir Dar. The lodging that Muluken had recommended or provided in places I could not book on-line, were all good places. Some were great places, like Bahir Dar , Simien Mountains NP & Lalibela. Muluken provided great opportunities to talk with and interact with locals throughout the trip, stopping on the roadside to visit with families, farmers or walking through busy local markets, and many others. These were some of my favorite experiences. Muluken was always providing me with great information about the people and places we were experiencing as well as Ethiopian history and culture. His knowledge is one of his most impressive skills. Muluken also provided great local guides at some of the specific sites for even more detailed information; all of these were good experiences. I always felt safe with Muluken and that he was always looking out for us and looking for unique opportunities to experience Ethiopia. Muluken is a clean, organized and thoughtful man. I could continue with praise but I think you get the point. If you have the opportunity to travel with Muluken you will not be disappointed. Read less
