We booked Rain as a private Guide for our two day visit to Beijing before going a cruise in South East Asia. Rain arranged to pick us up from the airport and take us to our hotel. She then came back the next day and took us on a tour round Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and other interesting tourist spots (as well as taking us to a local market and very nice Peking Duck restaurant). The following day we visited the Great Wall before being taken to the Cruise terminal. Rain's English is excellent and she is very knowledgeable about her country. We had many communications by email before arriving, all of which were answered very promptly, giving us good advice. All in all, Rain made our time in Beijing very enjoyable and I would thoroughly recommend anyone to use her service.

We booked Rain months ahead, as I wanted to ensure she was personally available (she is very much in demand). We booked her for 4 days, as Beijing was a stopover before our main holiday to North Korea.
From the outset, Rain communicated well and gave good advice on what we might want to do. Having been to Beijing twice before, we wanted to do some non-touristy sites, to see more of where the locals might go, and some sites built since we were last in Beijing (e.g. Performing Arts Theatre and Olympic Park). The itinerary was agreed between us after we let her know the type of things we wanted.
We also used Rain to book airport transfers, which were reasonable (£25 each way) and very good. It made our arrivals much easier.
On our first day we instantly knew we had made the right choice. Rain is friendly and talkative and asks a lot of questions to help her guage what type of people she is dealing with. We were comfortable with her straight away.
All four days were varied and interesting, with Rain imparting her knowledge without overwhelming you with facts. We hired a car and driver for two days and used taxis, buses and the underground for the remaining trips.

Some of the standout things we did were:-
Panjiayuan Dirt Market (flea market)
Capital Museum
Cuandixia Ming Village (day trip 2 hours outside Beijing - requires a car and driver)
798 Art District (boutique shops and galleries)

The restaurants Rain took us to were some of the highlights of our trip. All local places where we were usually the only foreign people. All the food was authentic and tasty (Dim Sum, hot pots, Sichuan). However, the best meal of the trip was a local house in the Ming Village (Cundixia), which put simple, fresh ingredients together to form a very tasty meal of about five different dishes. For all lunch meals, we had Rain  (and driver if used) eating with us and we had some good chats about all sorts of things. She also gave us recommendations for evening meals, which were very good.
Hua Restaurant (Ghost Street) - #2 in tripadvisor!
Da Dong - Beijing Duck restaurant

On our last day, at our request, Rain took us to a wonderful shopping street selling old carvings, antiques, paintings and chops/stamps (sorry, I've forgottent the name), where we managed to buy some carvings to remind us of China. She advised us on bargaining, but tried not to get too involved in the actual bartering.
All in all, I would thoroughly recommend Rain as a guide. She made our Beijing trip and was a very nice person to be with. Rain works very hard at giving you the best experience she can and she is very successful at it.

My husband, 2 kids and myself were travelling to china for the first time (for me and kids) and with not idea of the language or culture - we landed there and was completely felt at home with Rain and her staff (drivers etc). Driver picked us up the night we landed and next morning she was there at our hotel before time with her bright smile. She was very knowelegable of the politics, culture, food and historic events. She accomadated with our changing plans - with young children. Kids were happy to see her and hear her stories of Beijing. She made last minute plans for us to Xian as my little boys wanted to see the terra Cota warriors. Its amazing she got us plane tickets, tour guide at Xian at a moment's notice. The food and shows she took us to were amazing. Very warm, friendly and very well communication via email to plan your visit with her. I would definetly recommend her. She times and plans everything really well.

My family and I just returned from Beijing last week. We utilized Rain for 4 days along with her arranged car service. We found Rain to be very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Her advice in planning our itinerary over the four days we stayed in Beijing was right on point. It was just the right mix of activities to keep all of us entertained and engaged including my 9 year old son and 12 year old daughter. She was thoughtful and understanding when dealing with our children particularly their multiple bathroom breaks throughout the day:-). Her English was excellent and we appreciated having someone to interpret for us. She avoided the typical tourist traps and provided excellent advise on where to dine - we never had a bad meal. Anyone visiting Beijing would be privileged to have Rain as their guide!

At the end of our Asian cruise we spent 3 full days touring Beijing. Our research on Synotrip and Cruise Critic led us to contacting Rain and what a perfect choice she is. Our experience could not have been better.

We began our email conversation with Rain several months before we arrived in Beijing. Her responses were quick and always very helpful as we developed our tour itinerary for the three days and she was very flexible in adjusting our schedule.

Although Rain was engaged during our time in Beijing she assigned her colleague, Emily to us. Emily could not have been more helpful, flexible, charming, or responsive. Both Rain and Emily  are Chinese Government licensed tour guides and this is very important. They have passed rigid examinations and they absolutely know their stuff. They also get free admission to all the tour sites so they can accompany you through each site. (There are many tour guides you may find through the Internet that our not licensed. Beware of using un-licensed guides in China).

We also would like to especially commend Rain’s assignment of a great safe driver, Mr. Liu who was a terrific assistance to us. He was safe and extraordinarily pleasant to be with during our time in Beijing.

We unhesitatingly recommend Rain to anyone visiting Beijing and if she assigns Emily and Mr. Liu be prepared to have a wonderful visit from pick up at the cruise port to drop off at the airport. Emily excels at assisting with haggling with vendors and be sure you eat at Emily's favorite restaurant and savor the best Chinese meal you have ever had and where you will be the only non Chinese in the place. We advise you avoid the “famous” duck restaurants and stick with Emily’s choices.

We travel the world often and seldom have we had a private tour experience as good as we had with Rain.

We contacted Rain for all of our tour arrangements in the Beijing area after reading about her services on Synotrip. She arranged everything flawlessly from transportation from the cruise port to our hotel to two full-day excursions and transportation to the airport for our departure. When we had questions we emailed her and she responded within minutes. She wasn't available personally to guide us around Beijing or to the Great Wall, but introduced us to Anna, who was delightful. Anna had over six years experience as a professional tour guide, spoke perfect English, knew the Beijing area thoroughly and quickly became more like a friend than a professional guide. On short notice she managed to obtain front-row seats to the Beijing Chinese Acrobat show for us. In summary we had a great experience using Rain's services as an organizer and highly recommend her to anyone touring in the Beijing area. She makes a visit easy.
