We enjoyed a three day tour with Rain's guide Emily for a very cold December 30-January 1. Emily made the visit to Beijing very special for us, and we consider her our friend. I was trying to learn a little Mandarin, so Emily had me do some tongue-twisters such as "40 is 40" in Mandarin. She would say I was doing good even though I was butchering it :)
Emily was very knowledgeable and honest, and it was great being able to ask her dozens of questions (we absolutely loathe being in large tour groups). We have a few dietary restrictions, including no pork or shrimp, and Emily was able to help us find some great dining options. Driver Shifu also did a great job.

Some tips- If you aren't already familiar with Tzu-Hsi aka the Dragon Lady, it might add a little more meaning to be familiar with her before touring. The last part of the Forbidden City as well as a good part of the Summer Palace deal with Tzu-Hsi, so some familiarity with her might make the tour come alive more. Also, if you are just wanting a few few souvenirs to take home, and aren't wanting to haggle over a bunch of purses, belts, and knock-off items, you might want to skip the Pearl Market. If you're staying in Wangfujing area, we enjoyed the experience more at some of the markets jutting off of Wangfujing pedestrian street- cheap items at set prices without the haggling and dozens of people trying to get your attention.

We found Rain to be an excellent guide on our December 2015 trip to Beijing. Her English is good, her knowledge of Beijing excellent. She is always in good humour and is always sensitive about whether the tour is moving at the pace desired by the client. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a guide in Beijing.

Simply liar, fake not honest

I had my agreement with her for 2 days tour in Beijing one to The great wall and the other to Longqing gorge. After many E-mails we could reach an agreement. Although it is still expensive but we agreed to meet on that day at 9 am (I got confirmation by E-mail from her), then simply she did not appear and all her phones either not answering or closed. I had to find another group on the next day, it was a great trip which I enjoyed with nice people and English speaking Chinese guide for half of her price. Take care from her don't make any agreement or contact with her. She is NOT recommended at all

My name is Yahya, I am from Egypt my trip to China was from 22/7 to 6/8/2015

Here is my E-mail for more details and copy of her fake E-mails

We had a fabulous 4 days in Beijing, and pre-arranged our itinerary before hand. Although we didnt meet Rain, she was very helpful, and always promptly replied to our emails. Mark our tour guide (Organised by Rain) was really great and had extensive knowledge of all the landmarks . We visited all the main sights, Forbidden City, local Parks, Summer Palace, Great Wall, Cuandixia hill side village, night markets and many more places... We walked for two days and used a car for two days, so it was nice to alternate between the country and the city. Everything ran very smoothly, the people were great, and we were very well taken care of - would highly recommend it for family or business stopovers!

We completely relied on Synotrip reviews when booking the services of Rain for our 3 day stay in Bejing in August 2015. As others have posted, she was busy herself but sent Emily to be our personal guide. She also arranged for a driver to meet us at the airport & take us to the Park Plaza Hotel, which she recommended.
Rain was very easy to communicate with....she always responded promptly and with outstanding English skills. She did suggest several hotels and we were satisfied with her advice.
We have never retained the services of a private guide before so were unsure what to expect. However once we met Emily on the first morning at our hotel we were at ease. She arrived promptly, was quite pleasant, and spoke excellent English. Because of anticipated rainy weather on day #2, we went to the Great Wall on day #1 since it was *sunny*. Relative term, as the sky in Bejing is constantly grey, so you never really see the sun. Being on the Great Wall was definitely a Kodak moment. Emily was so well informed as to the history of her country, while also able to point out various aspects of the rural areas we passed.
While visiting the other major historical sites in the city, she was able to add interesting anecdotes to the historial facts, which made for an interesting experience. And Emily was always ready to anxwer our questions....we felt that we could ask her anything. Lunch and restroom stops were all handled easily.
China is such a huge vast country so different from the West that I cannot imagine moving about & seeing so much in such a short time. Guide fees were paid in cash.....be sure to bring extra cash for admission tickets, taxi fares, lunch, water, etc. We travelled by private car (to Mutianyu), by taxis, and by subway. I would recommend the services of Rain for anyone wishing to have a great experience in Bejing.
