My husband and I booked a 3 day tour in Beijing based on the Synotrip reviews and we were very pleased with the overall experience. I wasn't sure what to expect but we shared a lovely 3 days with Francis our tour guide. Her mastery of the English language was surprising, her vocabulary was exemplary and more than what I expected. Francis was very friendly, and pleasant to be with. She shared tidbits of information with us about Beijing and living in China, She answered our questions about life in China for a young lady. We felt like she was part of our family and not a stranger at all. She was very informational when it came to the historical sites we visited providing us with information and details about architecture, history and beliefs.
The price of admission to all the main attractions is included in the overall cost as is lunch every day. Francis took us to local restaurants to sample the various types of cuisine. We are adventurous eaters, so this was wonderful as we would not have walked into these places on our own. The other advantage of a personal tour is that we got to go to smaller restaurants as it was just the three of us for lunch.
Also the pre and post communication with Rain was wonderful, she ensured that all went well and answered any questioned that I had.
I definitely recommend this tour guide service and when I go back to Shanghai, I am contacting Rain.

We had originally planned to do the two day tour of Beijing. Rain offered to provide an airport transfer which we gratefully accepted. Unfortunately we lost a day due to bad weather delays to our flights to Beijing. However Rain was constantly in contact with us and we were able to reduce our tour to a one day tour. She also kept an eye on our flights and the driver was there waiting for us, which was fantastic as we were in no condition to be trying to find a ride to our hotel after spending the last 24 hours in airports, planes and short stay hotels! The only negative point to the whole tour experience was that our driver was openly unhappy about the tip, we had no idea about the exchange rate or the amount of tip expected so maybe it would be an idea to ask Rain before hand what is acceptable.
The tour was excellent! Emily was there right on time and she had encyclopedic knowledge of Beijing, there wasn't a single question that she was unable to answer, she was fluent and interesting! In one day we managed to see the square, the forbidden city and the wall. Lunch was delicious (a little too touristy and room heating would have been nice!).
By the end of the day we considered Emily to be more of a friend than a guide and will hopefully keep in touch with her!
In conclusion, thank you so much Rain and Emily! We look forward to our next trip to Beijing!

My wife and I were guided by Rain on a four day tour in early February 2016. Throughout this time we found Rain to be thoroughly professional.

On each day she was always waiting for us within the hotel reception ahead of our scheduled meeting times.

Each day was very enjoyable and taken at a pace that suited us. We visited all the sights that we had asked too, and also several others.

Likewise prior to arriving in Beijing communication with Rain was first class. She always replied promptly to any queries.

We also arranged transport to our hotel, and back to the airport, via Rain. This was also carried out efficiently and effectively.

We had a fantastic time in Beijing, in no small part due to the time we spent with Rain. It was like saying goodbye to a friend at the end of the trip.

We would highly recommend Rain to anyone looking to have a guide in Beijing.

This tour was definitely the highlight of my stay in Beijing and highly reccomended! Rain speaks good English, is friendly and knowledgable, and nothing was too much trouble. We visited the Huanghuacheng section of the wall, which I would reccomend for the more adventerous and those who want to see the real wall - much of it is left in original condition, so parts are rocky and steep, however there are less tourists at this section so we had the entire section of the wall all to ourselves! The amount of time we spent there was left entirely to us, and consequently we had 2 extra hours left at the end, so we went around Olympic Park, the Hutongs and the Lama Temple. Lunch at one of the villages enroute to the great wall was great too - we let Rain pick all the dishes and were not dissapointed!

My family/ friends had a 24hr layover in Beijing and Rain was able to create a quick/ informative/ fun tour for 9 people! Rain's english is great and her enthusiasm was wonderful, despite the extremely cold weather. The restaurant she chose was very good and our driver was very polite. Since we had to catch a flight, Rain was even nice enough to drop us off at the airport. I would definitely recommend Rain if you are visiting the Beijing area! She is amazing!!!

We really enjoyed our 3-day tour of Beijing through Rain. We worked with Rain before our trip to plan a tour that would engage our family, especially our young children. Rain was always quick to respond and thoughtful in her suggestions. When we arrived in Beijing, we met Maggie, our guide. Maggie was fabulous! We really enjoyed spending time with Maggie and found her to be incredibly knowledgeable. She taught us so much about China and Chinese culture, and she helped us immensely. Our driver in Beijing was cautious and attentive, and we were so grateful for his help.
