We got Julia Zhu as a guide through the Norwegian travel agency «Kinareiser». She was our personal guide in 10 days for our family in Beijing and to The Great Wall. Julia was very dedicated and besides guiding us through the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, The Summer palace, she took us as well to places beyond our program, like markets, The Olympic Stadium and several more. She helped us with many things that not were define in advance and could answer us on every question we had. To be together with Julia was very lovely, pleasant and professional. She speaks very good fluent English with an excellent European accent, which was very nice for us non-English speaking family. We highly recommend her services. Read less

I recently returned from a 4 day trip to to Beijing with my parents and, thanks to Julia, it was a flawless and unforgettable trip. I've been to Beijing many times before and used several guides. Julia was BY FAR the best I've had.

Julia guided us through the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Great Wall and Hutongs - not to mention countless trips back and forth between different hotels and markets. She has incredible knowledge of these historical sites, as well as a breadth of knowledge of Chinese customs, traditions, politics, etc. I don't think she failed to answer even one of our questions (and my father is a very curious person!)

Her and her driver were always on time, and they were super patient if we were running behind schedule ourselves.

I would 100% recommend arranging your visit/guide with Julia - I certainly will next time I'm back.

We used Julia as our tour guide on our first visit to Beijing back in March 2012.  She was very helpful in suggesting daily itineraries for places to visit but also flexible when we wanted to make changes.  Her English is excellent and she is very knowledgeable of the history of Beijing and all of the things to see and do.  She is very professional, personable and fun to be with!  We have since moved to Beijing and have used her several more times when we have had friends come visit us.  We have also highly recommended her to our colleagues and friends in Beijing as well.  We highly recommend her services!

In May 2013 I visited my sister who had been living in Bejing for over a year.  On a recommendation from a friend, she hired Julia to be our tour guide for two days.  I really found Julia very knowledgeable of Chinese history as well as Beijing and the surrounding areas.  Her English was excellent so there was never a problem with communication.  She was also very flexible and lots of fun to be with.  I found her fees very reasonable ,and would highly recommend her as a tour guide to anyone visiting Beijing.

I have been to china two times so far and had several tour guides on both occasions. I have to say that Julias proficiency of the english language is something that I have not found with any other guide so far.  You will also find her to be an experienced and very professional tour guide. 
These facts made our trip with her very easy and we had a lot of fun together.  
Julia was very keen to show and discuss with us the merits of chinese civilization.

 

Alltogether our trip to Beijing was very pleasant. Will I book her again next time I am in Beijing?

I have visited China as a businessman and as a tourist many times.  I have seen many of the major tourist sites in various parts of the country.  On this trip to Beijing, I wanted to see some of the less well-known places. 

I chose to ask Julia to be my guide as I was impressed by the reviews of other travelers, and because her communications by email before the trip were rapid and intelligent.  I somehow knew that we could get along.  He suggestions on places to visit were right on the mark.

When we met up in Beijing, I knew I had made the right decision. We visited some really interesting places and at all times I found her knowledge impressive and most interesting.  She was great company and a pleasure to be with. She had a wonderful knowledge of Chinese history and culture.  She also knows nice places to sit down and relax for a coffee and  amazing restaurants!

I would strongly recommend Julia as a wonderful guide for any trip to Beijing or elsewhere in China.  She has a proper Chinese guide’s pass, which means she knows what she is talking about and she can enter most sites without paying.  10 out of 10!
