My wife, daughter and granddaughter and myself took a tour with Jenny today. It was lovely. Jenny has a warm , pleasant personality and speaks English fluently. We tasked her with a hard challenge: a tour to show us Suzhou and at the same time one that would keep our nine year old granddaughter engaged. Jenny was up to the task. We did an informative Grand Canal tour, a walk along Shantung street and then over to to the Pandamg ?) gate. I have been to eighty four countries and hired tour guides in many of them. My friend, who is also American but has been living in Shanghai for the past few months, and I toured Suzhou with Jenny. She was very responsive to my initial inquiry by email and later by WeChat. We had a nice day: she met us at the train station and we went by cab to Humble Garden. Lunch was yummy and very reasonably priced. Then she took us to a silk factory--seeing cocoons become silk thread was fascinating--and then to Master of the Nets garden. This was her suggestion and it was a good one as Master of the Nets was less crowded and more quaint than Humble. We wound up skipping Lingering Garden because she said it was similar to Humble and we hadn't appreciated the crowds there. Finally ended with a private boat ride down the Grand Canal. She left us to wander Pingjiang Street at our own pace and that was the end of the tour. Overall, very nice and clear and fun. She is always making sure you get the best price on things. Though her tour fee doesn't cover entrance tickets, food, or taxis, her service and knowledge is worth it.

It was a pleasure to meet Jenny and to be guided by her for a day around the essential sights of Suzhou. Jenny was always prepared to go 'the extra mile', which accompanied by her in depth knowledge of the various places we visited all added up to a rich cultural experience. I was fortunate enough to enjoy the services of Jenny for 2 days on consecutive Saturdays, while in Suzhou for business. She is well spoken, a wealth of information and you basically just got to see each site without any issues, concerns or hassles. She handled all the attractions entrance ticketing, lunches, haggling, transport with aplomb. I'd recommend getting a dedicated driver to make the day even more relaxing. Her intimate knowledge of Suzhou ensured you got a full days site-seeing in, and weren't driving around constantly. She asks what you are interested in and creates a day trip to suit. Thoroughly recommend her.
