Jack in Shanghai Suzhou Hangzhou Like 0

I somehow found Jack's website and very pleased I did.  Jack was busy and he had Tom meet us.  Tom was excellent. Fluent of course but extremely knowledgeable and very easy to get along with. Went way out of his way to see what we wanted to do and gently made suggestions which turned out to be great.  In contrast to many guides we have had,  didn't have something going with a restaurant and a store.  Very professional.

My wife and I reserved July 6, 2012 for a tour of Hangzhou guided by Jack. From Shanghai, we took a bullet train and arrived at the Hangzhou station at 9:00, where Jack was waiting for us. We found Jack to be genuinely friendly. He likes people and he enjoys his work as a tour guide. We also found him to be honest and reliable. He took us to all of the places we wanted to see in a very efficient manner.

The original agreement was that Jack was going to drive us in his own van, but due to the heat wave, he brought a local driver with his air-conditioned car to save time looking for places to park and minimize our walk in the heat. The driver would let us off at the entrance to the scenic spot, and come back to pick us up upon receiving word from Jack on his cell phone. It worked out great, as we wasted little time and covered all the major sights in Hangzhou in one day. Jack stuck to the original quote and did not charge extra for the driver and the car.

At the end of the day, when we mentioned to Jack that we needed to buy bus tickets to go to Xitan next day, he arranged for the driver to take us to the bus depot in the morning and buy tickets for us.

Jack made the day of Hangzhou tour pleasant, smooth, and memorable. If we have another chance to visit Shanghai and Suzhou areas, we would not hesitate to have Jack as our tour guide.
