My husband, sister and I had one day to see Tiger Leaping Gorge as we travelled from Lijiang to Shangri-La. I contacted a number of guides and had an immediate response from Henry. He provided me with an excellent itinerary that gave us everything we wanted (as well as a few extras) for a good price. He was also very clear about what the price included and excluded, which we appreciated. On the day of the tour, Henry collected us precisely on time in his immaculate car, and drove us from Lijiang to the viewing platform at Lower Tiger Leaping Gorge (visiting a couple of photo spots en route). He was a very safe and careful driver, and was clearly very familiar with the route. After walking down to the viewing platform, he drove us to Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge for lunch at Halfway Guesthouse. He was happy to make additional photo stops along the way whenever we requested them. After lunch, he hiked with us from Halfway Guesthouse to Tina’s, and then drove us from Tina’s to Shangri-La (making some more photo stops along the way). As he could not drive us all the way to our hotel in Shangri-La (because it was in the old town), he called the hotel to come and collect us, and waited until they did. Overall, we found Henry to be an excellent guide. He managed to strike a great balance between being friendly and providing us with information, and giving us time to ourselves. He was extremely helpful, careful, and considerate throughout the process. We would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. At the end of our six week trip, we all agreed that our trip to Tiger Leaping Gorge was our favourite day. Although this was mostly because of the stunning scenery, I know that Henry and his excellent guiding skills certainly contributed to our enjoyment of the day. Thank you Henry. Read less

I found Henry on this site. He is very well spoken, his car was immaculate inside and out ( sorry about all the dust on the drive Henry). He was a very safe driver and knowledgeable about China. I have been travelling around by myself and thoroughly enjoyed my day with Henry. He turned up at my hotel on time and made sure I saw all the sights and then some. Henry was the ideal guide for us: he is proud of and knowledgeable about his country. We spend wonderful six days with Henry, where he was the guide, driver, dinning partner in local restaurants and chatting with locals. His spoken English is good, he like us, loves good local food and he appreciate photography. He is thoughtful, flexible and patient. He has a sense of humour and he was willing and happy to modify plans depending on weather and how we were feeling. Henry has been recommended to us from a friend. we wanted to spend on day trekking and because time was tight; we planned to go straghtly to shangri la.

no problem for Henry! he come to pick us up at the hotel. first he invited us for a typical chinese breakfast and then bring us to the TLG. Henry is very careful and attentive to our security. thanks to him, we can discovered some beautiful places and we will never forget that amazing day. good food, beautfil views, nice people...all were combinated to spend a good day. After reached our destination, he drives us to our hotel to shangri la (2h30 drive)...
