Very unhappy with Gary and his associate Susan. We booked a tour to see Forbidden City on a Monday and when picked was driven to Forbidden City and told it was closed that day by government without notice due to visiting head of state. Truth was Forbidden City is always closed on a Monday which of course the guide would know. Susan then offered alternative locations which we didn't want to see. We ended up doing a quick whip around the Summer Palace and being dropped off at a shopping centre. Gary then tried to charge us full price for the day and wanted to charge another full days tour to go the next day. We paid 70% of the full price and then on returning to out hotel discovered the truth about Forbidden City being closed on Mondays. We confronted Gary with this and he said it was because they were busy they forgot. I asked why the deception when we were picked up....no answer. Not recommended Read less

My family and I were looking for a tour guide in Beijing to see the Great Wall. Gary was very helpful and he reserved Simatai Great Wall tickets for us in advance so we didn't have any problems to visit that area. The wall was impressive and I'm glad that Gary recommended to us, as that part of the Wall was very quiet. I fully recomend using Gary as a tour guide. Read less

Hi friends, my overall review of Gary Wu tour service is very good.  He has good knowledge of the history of places in Beijng that we visited.  Very helpful especially when one of our member got sick, he accompanied us to hospital until our friend got medical treatment.  We really appreciate it.  He always on time and patiently accommodating our request on the spot. He also easy to talk to and sometimes quite funny to joke around with us.  I really enjoy  my trip in Beijng with Garry Wu as our tour guide.  I highly recommend him to all of you who wanted to travel to Beijing.

We traveled to Beijing in January 2016 and were great experience to meet Gary. We had good deal with reasonable price through WhatsApp chat and on the right time we meet in the hotel lobby. The cold weather did not stop us enjoy the beautiful landscape atmosphere of Beijing.

Gary is also very kind to introduce me to traditional food, and make sure that my trip runs smoothly. He has good knowledge of Chinese history and background story of each place and his fluent in English also.

He was very caring and playing with my son, even considering my son don't speak English. Gary is a certified tour guide, so we didn't had to pay any ticket for him and we could feel that he was well respected everywhere.

I would highly recommend Gary to anyone traveling to Beijing.

For me, having a private tour guide and driver is the very best way to go in Beijing and I have no hesitation in highly recommending Gary Wu as your private tour guide.

He was an amazing tour guide. He was friendly, polite, enthusiastic, wonderful, thoughtful, patient, and provide full of interesting information and very savvy around Beijing.

He picked us up on time with a very comfortable car and a good driver. He had the entire trip planned out, transportation ready and waiting. He has more knowledge about Beijing and it's history than a text book. He was a real pleasure to be with and have conversations about life and history in China.

We really had a great day and learned a lot. I recommend this tour guide to anyone who wants to fully enjoy some of the most interesting and beautiful places of Beijing!
