About Me

Hi. Frist Greetings.  I'm Eric Denny, an easy going,baby-faced guy with humor of his own style. So far, I've been an English guide for 8 years traveling and working in West China ( Provinces of Hunan, Guangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan ) which actually I take as the most beautiful part of my country. Hunan is my lovely hometown. Besides being a guide, I'm  also a photographer and musician ( Folk song singer, traditional flute player). Traveling with me would definitely be fun.Not only could you enjoy the gorgeous natural sceneries, hear quite a lot of  interesting local stories, but also could relax with my music and jokes. Moreover, my SLR would record the happy moments of you when enjoying the travel, Working as a Professional and private photographer for guests from far is always a part of my happiness, You may receive tons of nice or surprising photos about your tour. If you happen to need a companion like this kind, just help yourself to reach me, I will be super honored to show you around at  places I know and you want to know.

OK, "Go with Eric, Love the world more!"  See you there.

"We had the chance to be "guided" by Eric this beginning of 2016 for a 3 days tour in Hunan Province.
We found Eric very professional, with an excellent English level (not common at all in China, and among Chinese guides). He was born in the region and thanks to him we had the chance to know the beauties of Hunan province. He organized a perfect tour for the time we had available. We found Eric a very reliable and trustable person and this counts a lot when you travel in a complex country like China.

Eric is open minded, clever and a pleasant person to discuss with. Always ready to help and to give the good advises. We followed his suggestions in booking Hotels and restaurants and we have never been disappointed. All the tips given have been really appreciated.

Eric is as well a great artist..he played and sang for us during a 45 min taxi trip and we really had fun! He also took nice pictures of us and we have a lot of memories thanks to him!! In addition we received as well a basic Chinese class and this was very funny!!!!

We hope to have the chance to organize a new tour with him in the future and we really recommend him to the travelers who want to discover Hunan (and not only) in an authentic deep way!"

Eric was one of the few tour guides we (14 people) contacted when we planned our trip to the West China area about a month ago.  We found him very prompt, patient and easy to communicate with.   Even from the first email, we knew that traveling with him would be the right choice.  Eric proposed a 15-day itinerary for a private tour suitable to our budget, covering areas such as Jiuzhaigou, Chengdu, Emer Mountain (Sichuan Province), Zhangjiajie, Tianmen Mountain (Hunan Province), and Guilin (Guangxi Province).  Eric not only became our guide, but he acted as our travel agency as well.  He efficiently took care all aspects of our trip from hotel bookings, transportation, meals, sightseeing tickets, etc.
Eric speaks English fluently, has a vast knowledge of the areas we traveled and relegates his knowledge with a great sense of humor.  And he does play his flute beautifully and oh, what a great singing voice too!   It is quite a challenge to take care a group of 14 men and women, ranging from age 50 to 72, with diverse interests and physical capabilities.
In these 15 days, we really had a very memorable and enjoyable memory, and made a very good friend named Eric!  We would not hesitate to recommend Eric to guide any group who wish to visit his hometown and the places we traveled.

We travelled to Zhangjiajie in September 2015.

Actually we did not want to take an organized tour with a group , instead we tried to plan our own individual tour. If you do not want to spend too much time in restaurants, in visiting tourist traps, then stay away from the organized ( often cheap to attract tourists ) tours.

Be prepared that thousands of other tourists want to visit the same place at the same moment with you. Your definition of “crowds” will change after your trip to China.
The same applies for traffic conditions. It is very important to rely on a tour guide who knows the area very well. Planning is very important to make best use of your available time and to have a tour in line with your health conditions and interests.

Eric could not have done better

He  invested so much time (even before confirming the tour) which helped a lot to organize a fantastic trip.
I remember that we sent already so many messages that we become friends before arriving ;-)

He  has a vast knowledge of the area and the history.
Explanations we got were very well balanced, enough but not overloaded and all questions were answered.
He is a well-educated person with good language skills (English), very polite and organized but still funny. (which is important, you are on holiday, no ? )

We had a great time together and learned a lot about local life and habits as well.

One important thing I really want to mention is that traffic in China is very, very special. You might be used to traffic jams, to sometimes dangerous maneuvers from you home country, but forget about this when you come to China, especially the country side.
You will understand why you should not drive yourself. You have many overloaded trucks, speedy buses, many cars, thousands of bikes and pedestrians using every available inch of space in all possible directions – at moments you can be scared. Most  of the accidents in China happen because of bad driving skills.

So, it is important that not only you have a good guide but also a good experienced driver with a clean car in perfect technical conditions !  This was the case, we felt very secure.

So when you book with Eric, I can say that the car we had and the driver were excellent  and always on time from pick up at airport upon arrival ,check in in the hotels until departure at the airport.

Unfortunately China is very far away from our home and we will probably never meet again in our life, but we will never forget the few days spent together.

Thank you !

We booked Eric for our ZhangJiaJie and WuLingYuan trip for 3 days in October. A very humourous, friendly and knowledgeable guide. He is more than a guide with his friendly demeanour. Easy to chat with him. No pressure along the way too. He is flexible and will adjust the tour according to your preference. Really enjoy our time with him as our guide.

He also has a wonderful vocal when he sang the traditional folk song. Will definitely recommend him to our friends or anyone who wishes to see a different view of the scenic places.

Hope to see you soon =)

We booked a tour with Eric in May. That 3 day Wullingyan and Zhangjiajie National Forest included airport pick-up and hotel transfers. Communication through email was very easy and we set up most of the details through it. From the first minute we saw Eric we knew that we made a great choice. He was all smiles at the airport. The stormy weather didn't scare as at all. Eric is an extraordinary person. He is funny, outgoing and most of all very knowledgeable. We've had a blast together. He always made us smile telling funny stories. He is also very talented. One time when we were standing at the top of Kidney Village, surrounded by all those mighty peaks, he took out the flute and started to play. It was amazing!!! So, please make sure to ask him to play for you. He will take you wherever you want to and advise you wisely what is worth seeing. He showed us most beautiful spots.  He is great person. We hired a guide and left dear friend...:) Thank You Eric and hope to see you again someday...:)

He guided our 5 person exchange student group through a weekend in Zhangiajie. It was amazing! He was everything we could ask for, from a tour guide. His English is really good and he is often witty and humorous. Zhangiajie being his hometown added to the experience, because he knew where everything was and how to go about. We really recommend him as a guide.

I hope to come back again.
