Great Night Tour with Professional and Best Guide I have booked a last minute night tour with Chelsea . I must say, Chelsea is a special person. She went beyond my expectations and she went far beyond her duty. Reason being my last minute reservation. I have tried my palate of tastes of Shanghai as I never did before and I have appreciated her investment in our tour. She can adapt to situations and be flexible. I arranged a one-day tour of the water towns west of Shanghai with Chelsealuo in mid-April 2013.  Chelsea confirmed the arrangements, suggested a suitable itinerary and made the appropriate bookings.   She met me at my hotel as arranged and throughout the day, assisted me with the demands of travel in a 'new' country.   We visited all of the destinations we had arranged and her professionalism, flexibility, and  personality ensured that the day was extremely enjoyable and informative.

Chelsea has a good understanding of the history and make up each destination and was quite easy to converse with.  I thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Last fall, my family was here from the states. I searched the internet for a professional tour guide in the Shanghai area(as I live in Suzhou and am not really familiar with Shanghai). I emailed back-and-forth several times with several different potential guides and spoke with 3 by phone in an attempt to secure the right kind of guide for our adventure. Chelsea was very accommodating in every way................I tend to be very demanding and discerning, therefore I put her and the other candidates through many phone conversations and asked many probing questions. In spite of my demanding ways and perfectionism, she was always professional, patient, accommodating, and truly was willing to listen and try to understand my specific demands and not take us to the 'regular tourist spots' like most of the others were inevitably pushing us toward. Refreshingly different! 

When the actual tour day arrived(which ended up being an evening and the following day for ~12 hours), and I had the opportunity to meet with Chelsea face-face for the first time, it was a very pleasant surprise......................she was so friendly and easy to talk to, flexible, knowledgeable, and resourceful. And, her English is phenomenal! As a matter of fact, while waiting for my family to arrive, her and I struck up a wonderful conversation about some very personal matters and enjoyed a deep connection and developed a sense of trust. She spent the remainder of that evening and the entire next day showing us all aspects of this wonderful cosmopolitan city. We saw all of the usual tourist areas that we had requested, but made some 'on-the-fly' stops too and really 'tasted' the local flavor of the people and culture. A truly wonderful experience!

I would  highly recommend Chelsea for your visit to Shanghai. I am confident you will not be disappointed.

I cannot say enough good things about Chelsea. She is an absolute great person and joy to be around. I booked a 3 day tour in March 2013 with Chelsea including 1 day in Shanghai and then the rest in the surrounding areas like a water town and Hangzhou. She even took me to 'Era', an acrobatic main stage show in Shanghai which would be similar to some of the Las Vegas shows (don't compare 'Era' with the Las Vegas shows because there is also a huge difference of the price per ticket). She has a tremendous amount of knowledge of Shanghai and the surrounding areas and was with me ever step of the way. She tailored made my tour to what I wanted for no hiiden cost. I expected Chelsea would give me the tickets to the evening 'Era' show and I was on my own but no she was with me for everything. 

I like to see real life and Chelsea showed me how people in Old Shanghai really lived as well as showed me places that no tour map will ever have. Just be warned that she may quiz you so pay attention (I got caught a few times getting lost in the scenery) ^_^.

Her English was very good. I speak no Mandarin and she helped me feel like I wasn't an outsider and felt safe and comfortable. Just understand that most people do not understand slang English. But we had absolutely no communication issues. I am also a vegetarian and she was able to happily accommodate my needs with some really delicious food, she was even polite enough to ask if it was okay to order a meat dish for herself. And any left over food she gave to the poor which shows she has a great heart.

She treats you like family and will make sure if you need anything that she will get you the best deal and offer suggestions (she seems to know where everything is and the best rates and if it was too much she will tell you). She was very patient with me as I would take extra time in certain parts of the trip.

It felt like I was traveling with my best friend and not a tour guide. By far the worst part was saying goodbye. If I go back to Shanghai I would definitely have Chelsea as my guide/translator/friend she was an absolute pleasure to be with and very professional.

       We  had 2 days tour with  Chelsea to  Hangzhou, and Shanghai city ,our family and I enjoyed very much her being our tour guide.  She  is a lovely professional tour guide who has great knowledge of the culture and history of Shanghai.  She showed us the real Shanghai and took us to many areas of Shanghai that we would not have gone to without her. She also took us to dim sum restaurants that we never would have found on our own for lunch each day. They were delicious and so reasonably priced!  The acrobatic's show at the end of the day was fantastic and children were thoroughly amazed.

       We took high speed train to Hangzhou , Chelsea bought train tickets for us in advance . She  gave lots of backgound details on Chinese culture and society and on top told numerous stories and legends about the ancient China . We spend a complete day with her and explained everything in detail.

      Unlike some guides from tour agencies who would bring their clients to shop after shop, hoping to earn more commission from the spending, Chelsea never did any of that. Her rates are also very reasonable. She also did bargaining for us to save lot of our money . Chelsea also gave us a lot of advice on things we could do in Shanghai without a guide, which was excellent..

Chelsea was recommended to us as a tour guide by friends who had also been to Shanghai in 2012. We visited in October 2012 and spent 3 days with Chelsea. She was a great tour guide - organized things beautifully, planned interesting side trips out of Shanghai and found great places for us to eat. Chelsea's English is excellent, she is friendly, knew lots, hospitable and was able to communicate lots about life in Shanghai and China. Couldn't recommend her highly enough.
