1) If you decide to travel in Ethiopia you must have a local guide. Amanuel (from Aman Tour of Addis) is a young, friendly, knowledgeable and very customer-focused guide. Just tell him what are your expectations and he will make all arrangements! 2) If you decide to go to Ethiopia you should be ready for adventures, for challenges and for some extreme :) Etiophian calendar is 7 years behind the world, but actually you will feel that in some places of Ethiopia you are 100+ years behind the time, particularly if you go to the north. 3) You have to decide what you would like to explore. I liked my trip to Ethiopia because of untouched nature - e.g., Danakil depression with the lowest point on Earth, Dallol, lava lake - the hottest place on the planet! And coffee. Coffee in Ethiopia is the best in the world. Definitely! Some people are fans of animals - here you can see mini alligators and mega crocodiles :) Some people like to visit tribes - many of them are waiting for tourists :) Some people like visiting churches - in Lalibela only, you can found 11 monolithic churches carved out of mountains :) So do not hesitate, contact Aman, and plan your trip to Ethiopia :) Read less

Amanuel was a guide for our tourist group from Lithuania during the trip in Ethiopia in January, 2017. He was with us every day and I would highly recommend him as a guide due to the following reasons: He creatively selects routes and discusses with the group leader every evening about possibilities to include additional details; He knows the country very well and is very well-educated about its history, nature, people and specialties; He knows good locations to stay overnight and selects nice hotels suitabe for a good rest; He always finds amazing places to eat, try interesting local food and drink ethiopian coffee; He plans and consecutively organises visits of interesting objects and sightseeing places; He always selects very well-educated guides who tell interesting stories very informatively and fluently; He is very caring; He is naturally very tactful; He is very attentive to every group member. He always considers and addresses their needs and wishes; He is very warm, caring and attentive to elderly group members; He is very determined calm and has a quick reaction and orientation during unexpected situations; I am highly amazed and inspired and that is because of Amanuel Assefa. It has been a week since I'm back from Ethiopia, but Istill have pleasant dreams about it. Looking over 1600 pictures that I have made there, I see all the smiling faces of local people, remember their warmth and honesty. I admire their ability to celebrate life, which we, group from Lithuania, have seen both in Gonder and in villages during TIMKET festival. There are many great things we liked about our trip to Ethiopia. During our time there we enjoyed being guided by Ethiopian guide Amanuel Aman , who has excellent knowledge of his country, is caring, calm and organized, and has ability to solve any difficult situation easily. For example, having barely minutes to get to airport and still being a long way off due to the long road there, we still made it safe and sound! The trip route was very well made. It included historical locations - castles, palaces, many Orthodox churches, some of them (XIIth century) chiseled in a cliff-side. In a lot of their rooms, covered in pictures of Saints and surrounded by confusing corridors, you can feel the legendary tales about these churches being built by people during days and angels during nights.Mountains and dry savannah, lakes and their islands with monasteries, hippopotamuses, crocodiles, philosophical and fearless marabou storks, monkeys, that take nuts right out of your hands, fruits, that you can buy by any roadside, colorful markets... Interesting tribes, with their distinctive appearance, apparel and trinkets... And most importantly - bewitching atmosphere of the country, which you feel every day a little bit differently. It is really likely that one day I will take this journey again. After all, Ethiopia is theheart of Africa. You will always be my friend, Amanuel Read less
