My wife and I were fortunate to book a day with Pak Amir.  We had a few days to kill in Kuala Lumpur and had originally planned to rent a car and drive ourselves down to Malacca on one day and then up to Cameron Highlands the next.  Sadly, renting a car proved more difficult than we anticipated, so our first day was ultimately wasted.  We reached out to Pak Amir that evening to see if he was available on short notice for the next day and we were in Luck.  He picked us up right on time the next morning from the front of the apartment where we were staying in a very nice clean and comfortable minivan.  We chatted briefly to get his recommendations, and ultimately chose to head south to Malacca.  On the way, he made very pleasant conversation, pointing out places of interest, giving insight into the culture and history of Malaysia, etc.  His English was perfect as was his clear understanding of what visitors are looking for in a guide.  Unlike we've experienced many times in the past with other driver-guides, with Pak Amir, we never once felt hustled or pressured to do something or buy something we didn't want.   He was the consummate professional at all times.  He seemed to have a great instinct for finding just the right balance of conversation without being overbearing.

We had a great day visiting Malacca, and then driving an alternate route back to KL.  At our request, Pak Amir dropped us off at the Central Market downtown so we could eat supper and shop a bit before heading back to our place.  His price was also very reasonable.

All in all, I highly recommend Pak Amir.  I hope to have the opportunity  to spend some time in KL again someday, and if I do, I will definitely contact him again.

Pak Amir was a brilliant guide. We hired him to drive us from the west to the east coast of Malaysia during our holiday this April.

He was a great driver, very safe, plus he was really friendly and knowledgeable. We just wish we had scheduled a longer overnight trip with him! If I ever return to Malaysia I will certainly book a trip with him again.

Our group booked Amir's guide services during our April 1, 2015 Kuala Lumpur visit. Amir is very experienced tour guide with great knowledge of KL sites, history and Malaysia political system. Also his English is really excellent since he had lived in the US for a while. I can recommend Amir's service to everybody who wants to get the most out of their Kuala Lumpur visit. He is very friendly, crisp and enthusiastic about his job.
